I don't know if this helps but I have tried to find the race with the least amount of horses running. I have then calculated the odds as per The Pearce's calculations to work out who is the favourite for that race. I have then put my bet on that horse. The thought being, the fewer horses running in any given race, the least amount of competition there is for your horse to win.
I am by no means an expert in betting on the races but have tried to take a logical view on where to place my bet.

Hi All :hello:
I'm delighted to report that I received my missing 3000 points for opening the account! No reply to my snotty email, but saw them added to my piggy bank, so I've ordered vouchers before they can take them away again!
Leisure vouchers do have an expiry date! I ordered some before the bank holiday & they arrived today but on the back it has a redeem by date of 31/07/10. Sure I'll use them by then, & maybe this expiry date is a new thing, but I suggest you all check the backs of them!& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin

Update: I've been looking at the stats on racecaller and it seems quite a few people signed up today and placed a 5 point bet. I think you will all be able to find yourselves in the pigsback league somewhere around this page : http://racecaller.com/myleague.php?leagues_id=25&view=monthly&p=3
If you had a 5 point bet, and lost, I think you should have 135 points. I guess maybe they didn't give you the full 200 points as you joined near the end of the month.
So for us newbies is it worth placing a high bet for the rest of the month (a few days) and will we get another 200 in April?0 -

I can't see why it would be, or why it would make any difference at all.
There are two ways to look at this :
1. Make easy piggy points by placing winning bets.
(You get 10 piggy points for each winning bet - irrespective of how much you stake/win)
If you are following this strategy it makes sense to do small bets so you can be sure you have 5 points each day. since 5 x 31 = 155
2. You aim for the top 10. I think the way you get there (looking at some of the stats) is to bet large on some outsiders.
As for anyone who joined today as there are only a few days left it really doesn't matter if you go for broke (20 points a day) or not.
Next month - everyone starts from scratch with a pot of 200 racecaller points. Therefore it doesn't matter if you finish this month with 5, or 500 points.
I think for this month at least you are better off getting 10 points from winning favourites - I can't see anyone finishing in the top 10 from a starting pot of 140 and only a few days to bet.0 -
Hi, has anyone received their sign up points for Victor Chandler Poker Yet?
Also I e-mailed (twice ) about my birthday points and they manually added them - worth a try for anyone who did not receive them, my birthday was 2 months ago.Mortgage = $277,000/$440,000 Started 29/06/10Sealed Pot 2012 = $910Sealed Pot 2013 = $790.80Sealed Pot 2014 = 543.500 -

God I sound dead thick, but the odds on that horse are 77/50 therefore you would be "betting" 50quid to get 77 on top of that, but further up you said that the closer to "1" it was, the higher the chance of winning?
