 The guy never turned up and hasn't returned my calls. I just hate people that are that rude and waste people's time

Rant over, I will just have to think again to sell my desk. At least I got some work done on AQA tonight. Got £120 for the month on there but that is really poor for me. Must try harder next month. Part of me is even glad that an IV line looks likely (not that I want that, can just see the good side :o ) as this means 2 weeks off work and 2 weeks of AQAing during the day. Will find out on Monday when I go to the hospital.

Anyway, off to bed now :D .

    Hi everyone

Not been around much recently, been having problems with my fiance. This is mainly due to a pathetic issue with his parents. His mum has taken offence to something really trivial (won't go into all the details but it basically boils down to an incident with some biscuits!!). I have apologised for this (even though I don't really know what I did!! ) but that isn't enough and I am still in the dog house.

This led to my fiance and I arguing about it and his mother called me a miserable !!!!!!! It has died down a bit now but I'm keeping my distance from his parents (they live over 2 hours away anyway) and I don't think we will be getting married even in 2012!! I know that sounds a bit drastic but we were really close to splitting up over it all.

Anyway, I have now decided to save some money so I can get my own flat because I don't want to have to wait for him forever to start looking for one together. Will start giving my mum some money each month to put aside and when I've got enough for a deposit and a couple of months rent, I will start looking.

    Little rant over now!! :D

    Bring on the flat fund!!

Sorry to hear about the upset Emily, these things test a relationship and it's good to have a change to iron out the kinks before or knock it on the head. Hope it works out whichever way you want it to :)

My plan for my flat fund is to save £250 for the next 6 months (starting in April) which will give me enough for my deposit, 1st months rent and another months rent which I will be keeping as an emergency month (will leave it with my mum so I don't touch it!!). I'm only looking at £400-£500 a month for rent and will be renting privately to save on fees.

My main ways of doing this will be:

Mystery shopping - I've been taking on all of the jobs under the sun recently and already have 6 lined up for next month. I've been registering with a lot more companies too to try and boost my chances of work.

Carboots - I've been collecting carboot lots from Freecycle and bought a large lot from Ebay for £25 (trust me - there is so much stuff, I reckon I'll get £100+ for it). I want to do at least 2 carboots a month if I can. I think I could earn at least half of my £250 from carboots which I can just give straight to my mum to put away.

AQA - Will use this to top up the £250 if I need to, but I would rather use this to pay off as much of my debts as I can so that I can lower my monthly outgoings before moving out.

I am sooo determined to do this. My fiance moved out of his parents place about 8 months ago (because they moved away), however his parents paid for his deposit, 1st months rent and agents fees on his first flat, plus the other 5 months rent for that place and then they paid for his deposit and 1st months rent for his new flat too!! He can't seem to understand that I am having to clear all my debts (his parents have helped him there too) and pay for my flat all by myself. I will be so proud of myself if I can manage to do this on my own.

I have also been looking into what car to get next year (I'm on the motability scheme) and will sacrifice the car I really want (Toyota Yaris) for another Ford Fiesta as I can get a 1.6 top of the range Ford Fiesta diesel for just £400 advanced payment (that is all I pay for 3 years and I don't pay for ANYTHING else, just my petrol!!). Hopefully, I will get £250 back from my current car too as long as I give it back in good condition which can go towards this. The Toyota is over £1,000 for a 1.4 diesel.

Off to do some AQAing now :D .

I used to have a Yaris and loved it, just can't afford the money up front for one now. Never mind.

You're right, I've just looked on the website and it is £200 - I'm sure I was told £250 when I got the car. Just found out that they have upped the mileage to 20,000 a year too :D .

Yes , its a hard scheme to beat.
Was doing my sums but dont think I could buy & insure a car any cheaper.
I just feel my mileage now is so low and its quite a lot of money.......
