I met her at a MAC promotions thing at Selfridges. I had to buy a MAC lipstick. Had to queue up for ages, all these girls had dressed up like her in the queue and I was in a boring black suit as I had been to an interview. But luckily I had my red nails, she insists on laydeez having them. :D She was like a tiny little doll, absolutely exquisite. :A

Sassi, that was a wonderful, moving description of autism. xxx

I find it fascinating hearing other people's experiences with autism. My cousin was diagnosed at about the age of 2 (he is 4 now) and he does not understanding the feeling of fear or needing help, so for example if he climbs up something and gets stuck he doesn't actually know he is stuck, he will just kind of hang there iykwim. He doesn't get the feeling like we might where our heart might jump and we would think "oh Sh&T!! He also won't talk to other children (except randomly one day my daughter, which made his mums heart melt!) he'll also copy a lot of things he hears - great big long sentences he has seen off the tv, and if he see's something like a logo eg Tesco's - he'll reel off the whole advert! If he finds something he likes the look of he will run around it in circles for 10 minutes! and if things stress him out or get noisy he will squeal.

It's just a case of children with it seeing the world in a slightly different way to the rest of us I think! we just have to figure out how they are seeing the world in order to understand it if that makes sense!

Soz if you are all on a completely different topic now, the way this thread has been changing tonight!!
