aaarrrgghh panic food poisoning help

I know this is the wrong place, but it is the first page that loads and time is of the essence. I seem to have managed to give myself food poisoning and have just spent a gruesome half hour in the loo and dragged myself into the bedroom where the laptop is. Does anyone know any self help tips? Oooh the pain...........

I dont think you could have posted in a better place. Im sure more than one OS-er has had a touch of tummy upsets after one of their concoctions or has a handy hint up their sleave

I recommend having 1 dry slice of bread an hour if you can keep the first one down. This will soak up all the nastiness in your tummy.

Stay hydrated with lots of water (or as much as you can handle) after the vomiting/pooing starts to ease off for a little, try to take some dilute juice drink, mixed with water.

Will hydrate the body and give it sugar as will the bread eventually

Go to bed and try to sleep it off. I agree with keeping yourself hydrated - take a big glass of water with you and sip it every half hour until you go to sleep, and if you wake in the night.

If you are still ill in the morning, phone for an urgent doctor's appointment.
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

    I know. :)

I did it myself some time back and got right properly told off for it since I was a Board Guide and ought to have known better!

Trouble is there's so much you need to learn as a poster and it's scattered about all over the place. Which is why I don't tell people off but just ASK that they don't.

Though I know that even being asked can feel like being told off sometimes - but it ain't that bad, honest :)

Plain natural yoghurt, not the best tasting stuff in the world if you're not used to it, but is easily digested.

Would suggest you go to your GP, Environmental Health may also investigate it's source. You'll need to give a stool sample, so they know what type of poisioning it is. Effective treatment can then be recommended.
:idea:I got an idea, an idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about:idea:

I think, and I stand to be corrected on this... but the only medical advice that doesn't get deleted is...

..if you have a medical problem go and see your doctor/clinic/health centre to get proper help and treatment.
