Blimey, it's taken me ages to catch up!

Welcome to Dave, Deggers, Naomi and NTC

Day 9 for me today, I went to the offy yesterday for the leccy but ran in and out before I had time to think about it! I've saved £32 so far! Well, when I say saved, I actually mean not spent, definately not saved cos I've no idea where I got the beer money from in the first place.

Right, gotta go to work now, I'll do some personal posts when I get in the office.

    Speak later :)

    xx

  • go jo, 9 days wow jealous now just like I was when I first stopped the cigs and was jealous of the peeps who had stopped for a week, month. you seem to be finding time to post at work now, is this because you are more efficient in your sober state? wishing you continued success

Still feelin' good......................just played the song.
Welcome to the new people ......................... keep posting. Sharing your experiences on a board like this with people who understand and support each other is a bit like finding a way through the maze. It's also empowering and uplifting. Please get involved. :D
Have just read Allen Carr's 'Easy Way to Control Alcohol' .......................... just about the most powerful reading I've ever done .............................. it lifts the illusion of the 'benefits' of alcohol and explains how we've been duped / brainwashed into using it as a crutch. I feel quite liberated. :T I know singlemum and mollypolly have read this book...............or derivations of it. What did you feel.............................did you feel exhilerated ?
Hello to BHB, Jo, ISOM, YM, AB, Basilcat, Itmo7. lovely morning ain't it :cheesy:
Biggest hugs for shopaholic - thinking of you.
Lurkio, Leigh...............and anyone else I've forgotten 'Howdy'

    Morning all.
Well done Jo.:T :T :T :T you must be feeling soooooooo proud.
Is this the longest time in which you havn't had a drink for a while????
Well done on keeping off the cigs AB, just noticed you only gave up a few weeks ago.

    Congratulations Nearly-There on Day 4.
I read Allen Carrs 'No more hangovers'It certainly opened my eyes about the brain washing thing. It made me think about the taste of Whisky/brandy/wine(my tipples) and realise they all taste awful.
If I get the craving now I just try to ask myself Why I want a drink and tell myself....because you are thirsty,so drink some juice or tea.
I keep the book about and flick through it alot.

Day 23 for me today and 'Still feelin good...'

NT, was that the little pocket book or a full-blown version like the smoking one? I've read the little one, which took half hour to read! I'd like to get the big version though.

Give us some inspirational quotes then!!

Yup Molly, longest for me since 2006

I remember reading in the AC little book about how we can drink litres and litres of alcohol an evening but if you were asked to drink litres and litres of water, would you?

Yes. And No. I dont think I could make a habit of drinking loads of water LOL.
I had forgotten about that. Think I will read my 'little bible' again later for more inspiration.
