  • How do I keep positive with this bit of news?

The petrol smell from the cavalier was not due to the petrol cap. We have a big black patch on the driveway and the centre has actually eaten the drive way. It resembled bits the size of large breadcrumbs!

So we have a petrol leak and if we drive the car (which OH has been doing this week with kids) it could catch fire. Cost dont know till we get it to mechanic. A pipe is cheap and tank is not.

Do we cut our losses and buy a new banger, or a newer car the later 1 would have to borrow money at a more expensive rate then the loan rate I paid the excess from the old Zafira towards. Or bite the bullet think nothing else could go wrong and repair. All depends on the cost really.

Have new glasses, paid chq and some cash in back. Spent too much. £10.50 batterie for various kids toys, £4 McDs, £1 parking and £5 millies cookies for us all.

  • Going to head into work a bit early today to get a good start. Ive had cereal for brekkie and will have a banana in a mo. Planning to take a few nibbles in for lunch as well. Will stick some chicken in slow cooker if its defrosted. Aim is a no or very low spend day.

Blown my weekend and study day so will have to catch up next weekend.

Bank account temporarily in credit with expenses and tax credits in.

  • Got into work for 8.40 but didnt really get much done until gone noon by the time I had: Downloaded and printer job info/application for niece (if she gets it I may get some cash fingers crossed). Gone back and forth from mechanic to breakers yard with car/for petrol tank.

Petrol tank £40 and labour shouldnt be more than £80 so Im relived it isnt that much. That said its still £120 I havent got.

Other spends today other than £40 petrol tank are £2 lunch £5 grocery and 45p vending machine.

Feeling a bit better today. Fed up with all the extra costs that keep arising but I have had extra income as well. I think this month will be damage limitation up until the holiday. Then I am going to spend the darn £500 even if I dont have all of it. Ill catch up for xams. I am fed up of telling the kids we cant afford things so for 1 week Im going to be less strict and try to have fun.

  • Ok work day. Spent £18 in Mr Ts this morning with £3 relating to lunch. Final cost for the work on the cavalier is £65 , So £65+40+20 (lost petrol ) = 125 the lot. Could have been much worse I guess.

A no spend day planned tomorrow although there are a couple of bits I missed this morning.

    GC - 157/200 = £43 left till 22nd.

I have been taking double dose of anti ds this week to help with the dreaded pmt. Seems to be ok. I have been fairly miserable but not overly bad. Sometimes its the other carp in life thats to blame and how I handle it depends on how Im feeling.

Weight has been creeping up. I really dont want to stop enjoying food its my vice. I am now back over 11 st :(.

  • £2.64 in Tesco for lunch. £100 taken out to pay the £65. OH due to go to the shop for some bits when the thunder storm passes.

Work went well today. Happy with what we got done. Out again tomorrow and now have sompany at short notice which will be nice. I still miss working in an office.

The £82 chq and £60 cash hasnt show up in my account yet? Bit concerned. Ill check again now and if it isnt in tomorrow I have to chase. I used the drop in box. Not had a problem before.

  • Hi ISOM

Thanks for popping by I know from your thread you have had a manic week.

Forgot to mention it was the doctor that recommended the double dose for the few days as it tends to be a problem time. My dose is verylow just 10 mg which is actually for panic attacks when you read the paperwork. I havent wanted to increase it though before now as most of the time they seem to have helped. It was just the one week in four I was/am more prone to mood swings and down periods.

This weekend I really need to study after last weekends misarable attempt and ideally look at Mondays visit to prep. Going to chill this morning though and seem how it goes.

Spends yesterday: chip shop chips (too knackered from w**k to cook) and blackcurrent squash for kids. OH went to the shops and I havent had change back, Im guessing £6-7.

Hi Wendy, I like the idea of chilling. Have got to go to the post office to post off parcel and got my Asda shopping coming between 11 and 1. Will need to pop out later for something nice to eat tonight. J has invited me down so I'll probably end up cooking something down at his house. Will probably go to Asda and maybe pick up a pizza and some fresh bread. Will also get some popcorn to have with our DVD later on in the night.

Haven't got anything else planned other than cleaning (which I started last night!!!).

Hope you manage to have a relaxing day.
