Avon & Somerset deploy the camera vans at night e.g. on the A370 northbound by Halfords in Weston-super-Mare.

i got caught at night 4 years ago,but as soon as i was caught there was a set of blue lights flashing behind me.
maybe she was under or on the limit so they didnt catch her?
or she was going that fast the gun didnt read her speed!
or it could have been one of these neighbourhood speed watch things folk have been talking about on here recently?...work permit granted!0 -
im hoping it might have been some other random uniformed person holding god knows what lol
im sure the police would be wearing a hi vis jacket...they do during the day dont they?0 -
Probably one of those busybodies with a laser gun. If it was trafpol you'd probably have been pulled over.
I wouldn't worry about it.0 -
I jumped out of my car and accosted someone sitting by the side of the road with a laser gun, because he obviously wasn't a policeman and I thought I may have been going a tad too fast. As I dragged him out of his motor, he explained he was working for the council trying to assess whether there was need for a speed trap in the area. Apparently the strips they put across the road to collect such data get vandalised as soon as they get put down so this was easier.
I suspect I was not the only person to stop because in the time it took me to pull in front of him, jump out and demand to know !!!!!! was going on, he was on the phone for backup (which naturally never arrived).
Noting his council ID, I explained that I was only suspicious he might have been some scamster impersonating a police officer, so we parted on uneasy, but civil terms!0
