he didnt jesture to stop and there was no flash

im thinking if it was a speed gun there wouldve been a area further along to pull speeders over , or some kind of flash to take a pic?

They do work at night, she'll find out within 14 days if she has been caught. (assuming she or her family owns the car).
  • Could have been some old dememted man from a care home holding a hair drier...

but wouldnt they have pulled her over or took a pic with a flash?
  • In Northamptonshire (you're welcome to it) we always get the first scams by the powers that be, and theyve been sending the camera vans out at night to boost revenue's.

Dual carriagways in country area's seem most popular, wouldn't want the vans in populated zones cluttering the place up.

She could have run him over and blamed it on him being in the road with no reflective jacket :D

But seriously, why would they go to the effort of pulling people over when a first class stamp is so cheap these days?

Isn't it easier to drive to the speed limit?

Much easier - but there's a few of us who have been a bit naughty at times - got caught myself nearly four years ago. I was gutted, can only blame myself, esp as knew camera was there!

I was sailing along, the man in the metro - you know the one, flat cap, box of tissues and tartan blanket on parcel shelf - wasn't in front of me for a change doing 20 miles an hour, and I went through the camera (so to speak) at 35. Got an excellent photo of the back of my car a few days later.

    :(

I don't know, they do sometimes pull you over (they have a traffic car further up the road and he radios the car your number plate & speed).

But I see no need for a flash, the unit uses radar and there is a digital speed display for the operator to read. I also see no need to pull you over. The operator takes note of the number plate and presumably can send out an NIP in due course.

You may ask what evidence would be presented in such a case? There would be the officers testimony, the calibration of the equipment check both before and after the session. And any other certificates of conformity that may be required of the equipment and operator.

    She'll know within 14 days.
