I also tried to get Jessops to price match, the first assistant told me that they do not price match Internet outlets in December. The second assistant then piped up and said they do price match certain websites but not all, i said it was Pixmania and she said "unfortunatly not, sorry"
Rubbish policy if youask me, they dont seem to know whether they do or dont, and even if they know they do they only match the places they chose to. Weird0 -
I have heard they will price match before. I am getting the wife a 4mp digi camera Jessops are only £5 more for a £125 camera, compared with the cheapest. I was going to get a memory card and noticed Ebuyer have 1gb SD card quite cheap, I cant confirm as yet what price Jessops are as teh site isnt working at present, although I soem how doubt there price matched Ebuyer.0

Their book of sites they pricematch is quite big. If they say they dont just ask to have a look at the list of sites they do pricematch. If they refise go to another Jessops or call head office to ask them if they pricematch the sites you want. Always print out the cheapest 3 sites. At the end of the day Jessops tend to be cheaper than the web site for extended replacement guarantee's - thats what sold me (and the fact they matched it of course).
Some managers will try to wriggle out of it - ask to speak to head office - they soon change their tone.
Not sure about December though Im afraid.

Reason they don't match Pixmania is becasue the Pixmania stock is foreign owned. Got this confirmed with head office."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -
I bought a Nikon 7900 from them which was hard to find at the usual places, but was in fact cheapest on the Jessops website ! (for a change)
I went in store to see if they price matched their own site and the assistant manager said 'no, because these items are despatched direct from the warehouse so that's why they're cheaper' ... I thought that sounded strange, so I went back in later and happened to see the manager so I asked him about it and he said 'well we can price match it !'
So it's not necessarily visiting a different store, it's seeing a different member of staff !0 -
UPDATE
jessops , would not price match pixmania.......... tried 3 different stores. Have been able to buy nikon d50 with 18-55mm lens AND 55-200mm lens for £504 , yes £504 from dixons tax free , at the airports.
this offer officially starts next week , but the nice chap at my local airport let me have the camera and one lens and will deliver the second lens when they receive stock ."The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page."
happy travels !!

I went into Jessops last week and the salesman said they dont price match any longer. I said to him but you do., He had a word witha chap and came back and said he would match the price as the company I showed him, he claimed was a sister company of jessops. It was only £5 difference anyhow. He wouldnt entertain a SD card though £44 in store Ebuyer £15.
Any pleased with camera for wife, easy camera to use.0
