    no one is a failure!!
  • Hi Mumzyof2,

    denerobt back again :j

See, you're not alone and indeed some great help in just a couple of hours! And I'm gonna take task with you about being a failure at everything. you are not - you cannot provide proof of this as you have 2 kids who think the world of you and you have an attitude to win the debt stuff. That does not constitute failure. Failure is when you do nothing inspite of the evidence!!

    Good for you Mumzyof2 :T

HB is determined not by how much you pay but what the council says is the going rate for a X size property in that area.

So if they believe that to have a two bedroom property costs £380.60 every 4 weeks that is all you get even if it is more.

The OP can check but if they have moved recently which I believe they have then it should be correct.

If i could stop smoking then the jetix channel would pay for its self 5x over!

    free prescriptions......nicotine patches

roll ups for now may help the pennies and to help cut down.

until 5 months ago i smoked 20-25 a day for over 15 years if you had said to me 6 months ago i would give up i would have laughed in your face.

i woke up one morning had 2 brews 2 fags and never smoked again....

when does your son start full time school? my ds is the same age (4 in June) and will go full-time in Sept. Likewise I am reluctant to go and work all hours and pay for my dd (who is a few months younger than yours) to go into childcare, but perhaps its something to think about after next easter when your dd qualifies for gov funding for nursery. If you found a friend in a similar situation, you could buddy up with childcare. I had two friends from toddler group who used to look after all the kids on alternate days which allowed them to work a couple of days a week each with zero childcare costs.

Can't you tape some of your son's favourite tv show? Children don't mind watching repeats, in fact they usually love to watch the same tv programmes over and over again. Do you take him to the local library? Apart from the book there's DVDs that you can take out for him. You're not doing him a favour by keeping the big tv package when you can't afford it. Keep posting, you'll get lots of help here.

Hi, I've just registered on this site due to reading your post. If you are with Virgin Media the you could try doing what we did, ring them up to cancel your contract and they pull out all the stops to keep you. They seem to bring up deals that you didn't even know existed and save you alot of money, they halved our bill. I pay £30 for the XL package with phone and broadband. My friend also got 1p calls added on for calling her mum in Ireland. Try it, you never know!
Me and my husband have 2 kids and so much debt its nearly crippling us so all I try to do is get through each day and then try to make it into a week!
I've tried to give up smoking which I know I should do but I can't so I have started rolling my own, I don't smoke as much because I roll them as I need them and again it's saved me a fortune.
Let me know how you get on and remember you aren't alone, there are plenty of us struggling to survive at the moment!
