I really do need to cut down,,
My son already gets the 5 sessions a week free childcare, he goes Mondays 8am-5.30pm and thursday 1pm-3.30pm. His favorite tv show is on all day..
Iam going to cut back on my food and also try and stop smoking as this is where all my money goes, and also the phone bill.
My week will start from today and i have already spent £8 in the local shop..on cigs, a drink and crisps
Forgot to mention in my SOA i have a 700 overdraft with my old bank that im up to limit on so really want to pay so much off that each month
I have £100 overdraft with my current bank but im not in that yet...I have £25 in bank to last me till thursday..thats if i dont use my £100 overdraft which il prob end up going into when my rent is due..but trying not to use it

    Hi mumzyof2

i would agree with bathgate, tv phone and net seem high. I would guess that ur probably with Bt, try switching to another provider, mybe Virgin. we changed about 6 months ago and halfed are bill in the process.

i dont know what rental prices are like where you live, but if ur renting u could maybe think about moving to a cheaper rental...... just a thought.

remember the most important things are, Food, Shelter and your kids needs, so dont fall into the trap that i and many others have and that is paying cred cards and loans and debt collection agencies, at the expense of putting proper food on the table and keeping the kids warm at night. its not the end of the world if ya default

Hope it works out ..............all the best ;)

I ahve realised i need to cut down and im going to do it! i HAVE never been so positive in my life i dont think, i want a better life than this even though i do realise most fmailies with young children do struggle.
I will tell you a little about myself - Iam 20 and i have a DD aged just turned 2 and a DS aged 4 in the summer. Iam thinking of returning to work. when my son goes school but i have spent 4 years at home with him and if i return to work in the summer then i wont have time to spend with my DD on her own like i have had with my son. So i feel a little guilty abou that, and social worked it out if i returned to work full time and put my DD in nursery full time i would come out with about £60 extra that im on now a month, so is it worth it? to miss out on my DD baby years!

    Hello again mumzy!!

Have you read that book yet....? Get yourself on WhyQuit.com mate and read some of the stuff on there. That's what did it for me. I'm now heading for 4 months quit and happier than ever about it. I was so scared about quitting but I promise you CAN be happier without ciggies. I'm living proof!!

I've now NOT spent over £800 since 4 November on ciggies. I don't have the extra cash, but that's £800 I haven't stuck on credit cards. It will make a massive financial difference to you. Babe you seriously can't justify smoking when you've got kids to think about. Best of luck - PM me if you want to chat anytime. Hel.x

As you are with virgin why not get the 3 for £30

You get internet size M and TV size L and phone with free weekend calls to land lines and if you pay £3.99 a month extra you should get free evening calls to land line as well. And if you got 4 for £40 a mobile sim with 300 minutes and texts.

I know you say you keep the XL package for your children but you just can't afford it.
A £130 a month just on internet, television and phone and calls  granted you might not go out but I don't even have a telly. Including the two virgin sims that my husband and me have we pay about between £48-£50 a month with virgin. That is 2 X virgin mobile sims both with 300 mins and 300 texts each and internet and phone line and calls.

Sounds a lot but I have a disabled husband and I like to keep in contact with him at all times so that is why we both have virgin sims. With out them are virgin bill is between £28-£30 a month.

    Yours

    Calley

ok this is it..Ive done this before but my circumstances have changed

    Income -
    Income support - £59.15 a week
    Child tax - £76.16 a week
    Child Benifit - £120.80 every 4 weeks
    Housing Benifit - £380.60 every 4 weeks

My rent is £575.00 so i £380.60 HB and £120.80 Child Benifit always goes to my rent. The remaining money has to come from my Child Tax or Income Support.are you sure you are not entitled to any more housing benefit as you seem to have to make a large contribution?? as even with you r child benefit you are still having to find £75!

    Gas - £25 a month (D/D 15th march)
    Elec - £25 a month (SAME)
    INsurance - £11.27 a month (d/d 28th feb)house ins?
Tv Licence £35 every 3 months (due 1st april)
Water i have not set up yet due to my circumstances have just changed don't leave it too long or you will be in arrears
Tv,phone and net - £50 (plus phone calls so around £130 a month but im utting down and not using phone as my last bill was £209!) min package phone and net downgrade or get freeview
Mobile Contract - £35 (only just got it) downsize!

Debts - ( i dont know eactly how much they are exactly but its near the fugure i put)
Next - £330 Min payment is around £30 a month
Capital one - £480 Min paymnt around £23 a month
    Provident - I pay £10 a week
    Littlewoods - £198 Min payment about 30 a month
Park hampers - £5.41 D/D 25th feb, and every week untill 26th Nov (will have £200 for xmas then)
Food - About £200-300 a month. I tried the grocery challenge but i cant do it, but iam living out of my cupboards at mo which im likeing i think you could shave off £50-£100 off this at least

Thats about it to be honest, I have a 700 social loan. which when i come off incomes upport i stopped paying, but they recently wrote to me again as im back on income support, but i will be paying £7 a week again but i wont see that as it will come straight from my income support money b4 it reaches my account

well done on posting and asking for help with a bit of effort you can do this :T
