Got an email saying that my account would be suspended if i did not update information, when i clicked on the link it was asking for my ebay password and username, is there anyway of knowing if this came from ebay or it is a spoof.

Paul, read the sticky post at the top of this forum about paypal and ebay spoofs. If in doubt treat everything as a spoof!
