Ebay NEVER send out these sorts of emails.

Not ever, never, ever and they (like banks) make a big deal of not actually asking.

And lastly - dont EVER click on these links again!

They confirm to the spammers yoru email address exists. Some even have spy/malware etc in them - so I also suggest doing an update and scan now too.

And consider yourself told off and dont click on these things ever again!

  • I've had one of these to all but one of my email accounts. Only two of them are linked to eBay.
Like it says on the site
We'll never ask you for your password. Any communications from Ebay will appear in 'My messages' when you log in'.

I have recieved both spoof e bay and paypal e mails one thing I noticed is that they were addressed to `dear valued member`where real ones would say your name, you can check by going to the site NOT using the spoof link and see if you have a message.I actually reported the spoofs to e bay.

dowload the ebay toolbar, if you click on a link it will tell you its a spoof
  • Never, ever, ever... reply to anyone asking questions about "your item" for sale either.
    This is also a spoof.
If you do get genuine questions, they will always be in your messages on your Ebay page.
I now delete everything that says it has come from Ebay and then log onto my page at Ebay and check it out.
