We've just signed up with an agent, got the details to check today and it was like another house, loads of bits missing!
so faxed them what i wanted changed, including directions to the house as they were sending people down a little lane which is bit of a death trap and if i didnt know the area and know there are other ways to get to the house it would put me right off. so they resent the details which i signed off and then asked them could then just change the directions please. could hear in the agents voice he was !!!!!! off with me but at the end of the day we're paying them nearly £2500 and I want it done right!
ah, feel better for having a rant!!!!!!0 -
Congratulations on the exchange. Hopefully completion will be soon.
Just to balance things up a bit though 'cos I know there are lots of moans about estate agents - I have to say the agent who oversaw my sale and purchase was brilliant.
He must be about to retire - either that, or the worry of it all has aged him. My nightmare chain involved 11 different people and I was in the middle.
He was very professional, and his patience was severely tested. Despite my anger (not at him but the timewasters in the chain) he remained focused and kept me sane.
I did buy him a large bottle of something for medicinal purposes to hide in his desk when it was all over.0 -
On our last move, our agent was a bit slow during the wait for exchange. They did little to chase our buyer and I had to push them constantly. I took 3 afternoons off work to call in their office and stand over them whilst they made the calls I expected them to make. It eventually transpired that the agent was working his notice. Once we exchanged and I knew the agents would be planning their invoice I complained about having to take time off work to chase them. The boss agreed that it was unfair and knocked £300 off (£100/afternoon). Its always worth asking.*************************
