Line rental on the mainland is only £12 per month, if this is what you are paying then your calls are costing you £28 per month, this figure can definitely be reduced very dramatically with a prefix dialer (assuming they are available to you). Are you on the cheapest Sky package ? If not can you reduce. Can you get Broadband via Sky ? This could be cheaper than the amount you are paying now.
They are individually only small savings, but added together could save you £30/£40 per month. If you also tried to cut the food budget then you could save in total maybe £100 a month, which would at least be a start.0 -
I know the English and Scottish situation but you could ask your local CCCS how it works in NI
The creditors are legally, obliged to provide you with a Consumer Credit Agreement within 12 working days, plus two days for postal delays. If they have not provided the information within that time-scale, then they can not enforce the agreement without getting a court order. At this point you stop paying.
If after another 30 days they still have not complied, then you tell them to bogoff. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

On Option 1 it may be that price, we have Option 3 as the other half thought it would be a good idea to get free calls at any time of day, also broadband is also with BT and again option 3This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Hmmm Now I like the sound of this, Is there perhaps a template letter floating around? My debts have been sold on countless times, I am hoping the CCA has got lost or somethingI know the English and Scottish situation but you could ask your local CCCS how it works in NI

You do need to check the situation in NI, as it may well be different and you need to quote the right act of parliament. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

I would suggest that both of these are reduced to Option 1 asap. Try to keep as many calls as possible to after 6 pm (view using the phone during the day as a luxury, to be done once in a blue moon) many call centres are now open until 8pm. Use a prefix dialler - this is the article : http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/phones/home-phone-calls
The basic broadband package should be fine as well.
If you start by cutting back on phone/broadband, give up smoking, cut food budget and clothing budget you should hopefully come up with about a £200 saving per month.0 -
BT are just being akward not letting us reduce our package, and as for bband we can now get it free with Sky. But I am just hoping this CCA thing works out, How would I find out if these laws apply to Northern Ireland, This is a bit advanced for my local CAB, Anytime I ask them for advice I get the impression I actually know more than themnirelandguy wrote: »
