    Quick update though nothing of substance to say really except that I e mailed wahmall (details below).............no reply - so on Monday I telephoned them. Gentleman was very polite but said his wife was the one who deals with Wahmall and he would let her know my problem and ensured someone would call me back.
    Needless to say, no-one has called back, no e mail either. I left all my details with Wahmall including my order number, address etc.
    Letter now sent to smittenkitten requesting refund or it will be taken further.
    Wahmall.co.uk is owned by Sunrise Lovatt.

    This whole thing has put me off ordering anything more on-line.Its the first time its happened but enough to make me mistrust sites such as these.

    Buying stuff off the internet is easy, just follow some easy steps,
    1. use a credit card if possible,
    2. use sites youve used before or you have seen advertised or you know someone who has ordered from them before and
    3. make sure theres some contact details in case of the possibility of it going pear shaped

    Thanks C_Ronaldo - I always checked for that sort of thing and thought had contact numbers for this order..........phone number, address, e mail.........but just getting no response. In future I think I'll go by recommendation

  • I'm sorry you haven't had much luck Mary. I have been checking to see if this thread has been updated. Maybe it's time to get in touch with Trading Standards if SmittenKitten don't reply.

    If it makes you feel better I have decided to stop ordering online after having problems with Debenhams and M & S. Two companies you wouldn't expect to have problems with! I wish I'd checked the threads about those companies before ordering from them.

    Please keep us updated Mary as I'd like to think there is some positive outcome.
  • Just come across this forum and had to share my experience with asmittenkitten.

    Spent £25 with them on jewellery for my nieces birthdays and it never arrived. I sent 3 emails (1 from my mail programme and two through their on site form) but all were ignored. I also rang but got no answer.

    I had paid with paypal and went through their dispute procedure but got nowhere - they did not even reply to paypal, who contacted them on my behalf several times! Despite this, I note that paypal are still allowing them to use their service, which is unbelievable.

    I think asmittenkitten is a VERY shady operation and would advise everyone not to use them.

    £25 to me is a lot to lose and I am really, really angry.
