Almost any Selftrade account qualifies including their dealing account or their ISA accounts (though ISA accounts have an annual fee)
Once you meet the referral criteria, Selftrade will pay each of us £50 - I then send you £30 of the £50 I receive to make it up to £80

Hello all!
Although I've been on the MSE mailing list for a while, this is my first venture onto the message boards, so please be gentle...
This thread caught my eye because I'm in a similar position to sjcooper - I had some shares given to me a while back and am now looking to sell them.
I've got shares in four different companies, have all the paper certificates and was thinking about using a Selftrade dealing account to sell them on. I just had a couple of questions, so would be grateful for some advice from the professionals:
The Selftrade site quotes £12.50 for selling - does this apply to each company's shares you sell or just to each transaction in total? So if I sold all four lots of shares in one go, would that cost £12.50 or £50?
Also, would anyone be interested in the referral thing?
Sorry if I sound a bit dim - I haven't done anything with shares before, other than collect dividends!
Thanks,

You would be charged £50 as each share sale is treated as a separate transaction. Also, would anyone be interested in the referral thing?
