You need to remember that different regions can have different pricing structures, and so what one person pays is not always comparable to someone else.

    I live in a 2 bed mid terrace. I pay £20 gas & £10 elec DD PCM.
I am away half the week but the Gas is on a time for at least 6 hours per day and the lights are all on timer switches to cover the evenings, so I am technically using every day.
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

I've just stumbled across this old thread, and can't believe what others are paying for gas / electricity.

I pay a total of £40 pm to Powergen for a family of 4 in a draughty 5-bed Victorian house. We're not particularly frugal, and have mod cons like tumble dryer, dishwasher, etc. Plus I work from home, so heating's on all day long.

Why are your bills so high? Have you never switched supplier?

Nope I have never switched though obviously as Im a member of this site have thought about it.

I just find that at the present moment with all the gas suppliers putting up their prices it would be difficult to see where the best savings would be even if I used a comparison site.

I shall wait till it has all settled down and then have a rethink.

Also it slightly put me off when I read some threads a few months back about people that HAD changed supplier and had nothing but problems with various aspects of their billing.
    Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £60
  • £40/month for both in a 3 bed well insulated semi. Gas CH to Part L standard with conventional condensing boiler, gas hob, electric oven, tumble drier infrequently used, combined fridge/freezer and A rated washing machine. That includes paying off a £74 deficit for previous year for which we were paying £30/month. (Scottish Power online dual fuel, no standing charge))
Like pthompson I can't understand why some peoples payments are so high.
