BT Cancelled TalkTalk Account.!!

Talktalk were my CPS and I used to dial 1280 to use BT.But now I've changed from BT option 1 to Option 2,I had a letter saying BT have now cancelled my account with TalkTalk.Is this correct as I thought I was only changing to BT option 2 and still wanted to use TalkTalk when I wanted to.I also had a letter from TalkTalk today saying "Sorry you are leaving us".Surely I can still be with TalkTalk and use BT by dialing 1280 after going over to BT option 2.

That was my understanding too.
i.e. you can still CPS your calls regardless of which BT Together (or whatever their new names are) option you're on.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Interesting, maybe that is the catch and what a 12 month contract means?
So if we are are on Primus Saver Option 2 and we agree to the 12 month contact we get moved back to BT.

UPDATE...Just been talking to BT Customer Service and they say that we can stay as we were with TalkTalk and still get the "Free Evening and Weekend calls" via BT option 2 and to ring TalkTalk and tell them to put things back as they were.0 -

It is definitely possible to be on another BT option other then 1 and CPS your calls to another supplier.The problem seems to be that BT automatically assume if you select the option 2 free evening and weekend offer that you want to bring all your calls back to BT.
When you do cps your calls to another supplier they dont of course remind you to change down to option 1.0 -

sorry for the delay in responding. I have been offline all week due to a family issue (and my wife breaking the laptop, lol).
As far as I am aware, when you take the deal over the phone you have to state (or be told) about the removal of CSP, as you can CPS while having any BT option. Online... well i honestly done know. I will look into it and see what I can find out.

Here goes:
Part of the deal for receiving inclusive evening and weekend landline calls, on Option 2 with the 12 month rolling contract, is that BT will be your default call provider. They hope to make a bit of cash from your non-inclusive calls to pay for the service. That will probably be why your TalkTalk service was terminated.
If you want to use a non-BT CPS service then this is not really the option for you. If you want to change to the "normal" Option 2 deal, without the contract, I would think that would be £2.70 per month; thank you very much.
Option 1 would probably be the best for people who do not want to use BT for their calls.
