Over the last week or so, everytime i go to certain websites (but not all) the screen is either freezing or taking ages to load, and im then getting a message that internet explorer is not responding, and then it closes all open windows.
Ive checked that im running the updated internet explorer, but dont know what else to try - any suggestions?

I'm having the same problem. Certain websites either take several minutes to load, or they won't load at all. This is with Facebook, Hotmail, sometimes eBay.
And it's the same with different browsers (Firefox, Opera, IE7) and on several different computers my brothers are using.
I've cleared the cache, flushed the DNS, and scanned for spyware but still it doesn't do anything. The funny thing is that after about 1.30am last night Facebook started loading perfectly again. But I can't stay up until then every night just to use that and the other sites to get a reliable service.
Any ideas? I'm with Talk Talk if it helps.0 -
Im getting probs with a couple of cashback sites, and some of the comps from here too (Metro, Kiss, Allocine) so it does seem to be quite random!!! My MSE is working fine, so it doesnt look like its the same sites with everyone!!!

I'm glad you posted too, I'm using the Desktop pc at the moment and that's fine but the lappy won't let me get on MSE.

Had the same problem myself, especially getting into items on eBay at certain times of day. Was running a MT882 modem from Talktalk on a USB connection. Changed to an ethernet connection and changed the MTU value ( from 1500 to 1432 if I remember correctly) in the MT882 modem. Since then (touch wood) my connection has appeared turbo charged. Full instructions are on the talktalk website with more details on their Beta Forum. There response when I posted was a credit to them.
Incidentally their website indicates that this problem is not specific to the MT882, also affects netgear & ????
hope this helps0 -
I can't get onto itpaystowatch from the lappy either, It's fine from the desktop
somebody's trying to stop me using anything to do with MSE on my lappy!! 0 -
From what I can gather, this is a network-wide problem rather than something with our computers or equipment.
