I have no spare cash at the moment :( so I don't like to spend more than a £5. Newspaper and the occasional treat.

I budget for £30 a week in my spreadsheet + hair if it's a hair month.

Am lucky enough to be DF now - when still repaying it was £15/w which included a girls night out on Fridays with a bottle of cheapo plonk in the pub :)

Thanks for all your replies, as always am impressed by how some people manage, I can resist anything but temptation! Am going to try really hard to keep it to £20 a week. Although I've been a lurker for a bit, and everyone recommends a spending diary, just can't bring myself to do one - I can't admit it to myself I guess.....
• I think it depends on your personal circumstance (how much you owe etc) and whether you are one of those people who wants to throw evey single penny at your debts and do it hardcore to get it done quicker, OR you prefer to pay them off at your own pace and treat yourself at the same time cause otherwise you know you will fall off the wagon.

I used to be hardcore until I got rid of my car, it saved me £150 per month and cut my debt down by £8k! Now I tend to budget £60 per week for food, petrol (a tenner) and going out but if I want to buy myself something at the start of the month I do. Every month is different for me, some months I don't fancy buying anything and some months i'll spend a few hundred quid (went on holiday in Jan!) and is usually somewhere in between.

I still love Primark though and really like my food and eating healthily so I probably spend more on food than most (have expensive taste in food!)
Was debt free... then went travelling!

Go on Hell1,
We dare you to keep a spending diary, just to see where it all goes, you'll be amazed at what cr*p you spend money on. Is one dare enough? or do we have to double dare you lol?
Our spending diary for this month alone stands at nearly £500  , which I didn't think we spent anywhere near that, on food, petrol (DW travels 60 - 70 miles per day for work), alcohol etc.
