The TV guy who fitted the new aerial said that the area I now live is a really strong signal.

Did this guy know what he was doing?
Right now moved the freeview box and re-tuned. I can now pick up the bbc channels but the signal strength is only 10% compaired to others (E4) which is 70%, any ideas.

It sounds like you have the wrong type of aerial for your location. What does this site tell you here?

Agreed, or the correct aerial, pointing in the wrong direction..;)

My best analogue transmitter is in a totally different direction to my best digital transmitter, yet I see Aerial Contractors continually pointing new aerials in the wrong direction for their customers requiring a " Digital Upgrade ".

Check out Wolfblane as espresso suggests.;)

Goodmans are not known for their quality, do you know anyone with a different make of freeview box you can try?

Goodmans are as good as many, and better than some better known brands.

The guy that fitted the aerial is the same guy I used previously at my old ouse and I found his service really good. He has already been out twice since fitting to check it out for me (without charge), so I don't think he's iffy.

I have looked at the Wolf wotsit website and put in my postcode but to be honest the result didn't mean much to me. I have checked out which way my aerial is facing and it is pointing in the same direction as my neighbours. I have checked my postcode on the freeview website which said that freeview is not available in my area, but I know that's rubbish as my neighbours have it and I only moved 4 miles down the road.

I think I will just give up on it, as long as I have Cbeebies for my daughter I guess that's the important channel :)
