Carpets in Bathrooms

I hate carpet in bathrooms! YUCK. But on the plus side if it is new carpet then you know it'll be clean when you move in. So as long you don't regularly miss the toilet then it should stay reasonably hygienic!!

I have tiles downstairs in my house with underfloor heating underneath - very nice!
Only have carpet in the office, stairs and landing and dd1's bedroom.0 -

what it it with the UK and damm carpets in bathrooms..... ??....
Ok so I've seen a house (to rent) that I like, but the LL has just finished fitting new carpets throughout and has put one wall to wall in the bathroom. *shudders*
Now I've got a baby girl who will be crawling in 2 months time so (*shudders*) ... y'know... dont like the idea at all.... As the LL has JUST finished fitting them the LA keep saying theres no way he'll fit Lino or tiles now.... having spent a bomb already.
Are there any health regulations against this? For instance must he use antifungal carpet or "this" type of carpet or "that" type of carpet?
Anything?
Really useful, saves on bath mats. Nobody notices if you miss the toilet. And if your athletes foot is itching it's a great place to rub that itch.

It makes the bathroom feel much warmer underfoot, we wouldn't be without it. And a lot safer with kids around.
Obviously, you put a bathmat in the obvious places (eg by the loo, beside the bath etc) and you can wash them as often as you feel the need.0 -
I had bathroom carpet for years, probably due to laziness. Just replaced it every couple of years with a very cheap offcut. Finally replaced it with tiles when we went on the market.Been away for a while.0

All funny replies asside, so there's nothing in writing anywhere that states he "must" use antifungal carpets then?
Ah well, big rubber bottomed bath matts and a MASSIVE toilet surround it is then......0 -
