Three extra charge

My GF recently left 3 and joined T-mobile after 3 couldn't offer a decent retention package. The 12 month contract was up on the 23rd Jan and her number got transferred to T-mobile about a week later. Now we have received the final 3 bill will a few pounds for the extra week (this bits fair) but also a whopping £25 charge. We haven't yet called up to find out what its for, but I suspect it is for the remainder of the 30 day (month) period. Surely they aren't allowed to bill you for something you can't use? She can't use it, obviously, as her number is with T-mobile and her 3 sim is now inactive.

Hopefully she'll speak to 3 in the next few days so I can confirm what the charge is.

  • When you ask for the pac you are also giving 30 days notice. So if you ask for the pac on the 1st of the month & swap your number over the week after, you will still have to pay the remainder of the 30 days (ie until the 30th) even though your number had left them by that point!
Wondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...

^^ Thats right, 20 minutes on the phone for them to tell me that  The rep eventually admitted the charge was for 2 weeks line rental, over which period ou obviously could not use the phone. Rather unfair I think! Apparantly they transfer you to an automated message that tells you "everythin", unfortunately nobody ever told me how important or not this message was, and I therefore didn't listen to it. 3 years with them obviously didn't make a blind bit of notice. I'll write a letter when I get chance....
