Uswitch/virgin Rip Off

Thats all very well but it still does not get around the problem that both USwitch and MSe say you get a FREE case of wine and you dont.0
-
Exactly the point JHP.
I wouldn't order any wine from Virgin - I want it free! If I want to buy some wine I'll pop out to the local supermarket and buy it a lot cheaper no doubt.
Otherwise I would have used another way of switching.
I have contacted MSE about the issue and they are looking into it.0 -
im still waiting my 12 free bottles of wine too

Is Martin on the case??
I think we should all go to watchdog and complain. I want my free wine goddammit!!!Make £10 a day challenge March 2013 £101.24 / £240 :j

I must be Mr Lucky then as I have just spoken with Virgin and they have confirmed that it is complimentary with not a bean to pay.0

Well, having contacted Virgin Wines it now appears that I did receive a £79.99 for £39.99, so I did receive £40.00 voucher value. They have in fact changed my account details, which now shows that the case of wine was valued at £79.99.
Conclusion, it cost me £40 to achieve the £40 voucher discount. I have now closed my account with Virgin Wines and am sorelt tempted to cancel my switch with Uswitch, so they do not earn their commission with false promises.0 -
I too only received an introductory voucher stating I would get a free case of wine if I bought another one too. This, apparently, is because I went directly to Uswitch and NOT through Martin's site! This was not made clear, so having read about it through MMT I did comparisons at a later date direct to all sites that Martin had mentioned. Through the Martin's site I would have received the complimentary voucher. I lost out . DO EVERYTHING MARTIN SUGGESTS THROUGH HIS SITE.

What a great idea, switch your supplier and get a free case of wine :j as MSE, uswitch and eon said to me!! How wrong could it be. Reading these posts, didnt realise that it was a voucher I got because I havent actually received anything.
Switched through MSE on 6/12/2008, double checked by telephone before clicking that 'confirm' button that I would receive wine, "yes". :j Guess what? No wine by Christmas so phoned. They said I had to be customer for 3 months before getting wine. Didnt say this anywhere on the website/link etc but agreed anyway, gave them the benefit of the doubt.
Phoned on 11/02/2008 to confirm everything went ok and just to check that I would receive wine. They told me (quote from recorded conversation) "yes, you qualify, if you dont receive the wine by 6/03/2008 then get back in touch" :j
6/03/2008 - no wine!!
Emailed to ask, they apologised and put through the information again and said allow two days. Ok, thankyou.
10/03/2008 - Still no wine,
emailed, they replied to say that I now do not qualify as I didnt switch dual fuel, apologised for all staff I spoke to, who admitted the problem, that promised me the wine saying thats the end of it.
NOT HAPPY, Ok, I may have made a mistake by not reading 2 words on MSE correctly (not displayed anywhere else about dual fuel) but why did it take 3 months waiting, around 3 phonecalls, 5 emails which means 8 points of contact saying I would receive it to now say 'NO, and I dont want anything to do with it'
Where is the justice in that??!!
Replied to email a few hours ago to say you should at least give me something for promising me this for 3 months and paying them money.
What do you all think:question:  :question:0 -
I am really confused now. After switching electricity, the web page showed the wine voucher for £40,
You only switched electricity!
The offer states
How do I qualify for the offer?
To qualify for your free case of wine, you must complete a dual fuel* switch**
Therefore if you switch both gas & electricity you recieve 2 x £40 vouchers and thus receive a FREE case of wine.0 -

Yes if you read Martin,s article he does say this
"Rather than cash, Uswitch* will give a voucher for 12 bottles from Virgin Wines when you switch to a dual fuel tariff. You get six red and six white; with a maximum of one per household. Don’t worry you don’t need to buy anything else from Virgin to redeem it"0 -
I switched in November and havent recieved anything!! i switched for gas and elec too!!
