If you are talking about an extension and not the main BT socket you don't want to contact BT unless you are very wealthy.

If it is an extension get a local electrician to do the work will be a lot cheaper than BT doing it.

But even cheaper is DIY, its not hard to do and plenty of help on the internet. Just two wires, extension box, a few screws and a length of cable.

Or you buy a 5 or 10 meter prewired extension from a 99p or pound shop:D

depending on what you want it for a wireless solution would be cheaper in nearly every circumstance ( unless it is fairly straightforward whereby take above advice)

i suck at doing anything practical....its for an internet connection so wireless and extensions ( i have right now) are nearly useless to me.

In that case have a look in your local paper to see if their is a Telephone Engineer/ Electrician advertising that will fit it. It will be cheaper then using BT.

    I already told him that.

BT will cost you £200 or more.

Get someone local to do it.

If you live in the Bristol area I will do it for £150 cash in hand.

But don't complain if it only takes me an hour.
