I have been requested to include it with my IB50.

If you are claiming for mental health reasons unless you have a severe mental illness you will probably have to attend a medical anyway.0

A MED 4 is only requested for the first PCA medical. It's an error if JCP have asked for one now, and you don't need to supply one.
Ensure you fully complete and return the IB 50 ASAP. If you suffer from a mental health incapacity, JCP will contact your GP.0 -
Not sending a Med4, will it not go against me when they see my request letter that came with my IB50 and what about the tick box for 'Med4 requested' on the IB50 form, do I say no to it not being requested?
Just another query - when does IB stop if one fails after attending a medical. Is it from the day of the medical?
Thanks.
If your IB is stopped it is from the date the decision maker makes their decision.0 -
I wouldn't pin too much importance on the med4 either way, my GP filled it in in 30 seconds flat, using everybit of available space. I went to the surgery expecting it to take 20 minutes or so, but it requests so little detail that it's a joke imho, not enough space to detail what is often a complicated situation for many people,:mad:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
They can't turn you down without you having a medical- any doubt on the Decision Maker's part and you will get a chance to see the EMP.
As to the Med4, my IB claim didn't have one (complicated!) and after the medical they granted me IB.0 -
I bet they can and do turn people down without medicals, they do it with DLA so why would IB be different.0

My husband was told by the DWP that for anyone on long-term Incapacity Benefit, that you would not be turned down without a medical.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -

It doesn't just apply to anyone on IBLT-it applies to all levels of IB (and also IS/certain SDA claims).
However, an IB/IS claim can disallowed if someone fails to attend a medical without good cause, or fails to submit themselves for examination.0 -
Unless it is new claim within 6 months of an old claim ending they do not turn people down without a medical.
Sorry this is false.
My DLA claim was turned down without a medical.
Previous claim before that was 2 years.
Previous medical before that for IB was around 9 months and said I was immobile so they clearly ignored it.
So are you saying they made a mistake on my claim? and its not normal practice in which case I would have expected the tribunal to pick up on it which they didnt this indicates to me its not abnormal practice.0
