M&S do the dirty on BRAVIA purchasers

well, they have delivered the 20" and CHARGED me for it and then have cancelled my order as they cannot get any more 40" Bravias despite them accepting the order in the first place!

They have not even had the decency to email me and they have just removed my order from my account totally. So, as the order does not exist how can they charge me for a 20 " TV that was supposed to be free?

I can see another Watchdog episode featuring M&S pretty soon. Did anyone get their complete order fullfilled?

This looks like it is going to be the Christmas sale fiasco all over again.

Best of luck getting it sorted out, gordies.

They cant charge you for it as you didnt pay for that item? You ordered the 40" TV and paid for it- they offered the 20" for free.
They are breaking the sale of goods act.

PS, consumer vent would be a better place for this as people there know the SOGA fully.

It does concern me that several of the larger high street retailers (John Lewis, Marks and Spencer, Debenhams etc) cannot sort out their online retailing operations ...
    Gone ... or have I?
  • I have ordered this deal too, do this apply to all of the 40" tvs or just a particular model.

I have ordered the older model which was reduced to £1049 and just checked my account and the 40" is still showing.

If I refuse to accept if they just try to deliver the 20", how will I stand?
  • tbh you would have been cheaper buying both elsewhere - but yeah not really on.

Under £1000 after quidco plus cashback on my credit card AND a five year guarantee for 2 TV's from a reputable high street store, I thought and still think its stonking deal.

Just depends if they do unto me as they have done unto the OP

It is no surprise at all though. Most have no experience of online / distance shopping, and now they have brought their businesses in house instead of relying on existing, experienced catalogue companies to run it for them they are getting bitten.

if their is a change to the order that is made by the retailer then they have to notify you as per the terms and conditions

just contact them ask for an immediate refund and for them to collect it

also claim compensation for the hassle.
  • Well, i had only one tv delivered today also..........but it was the 40", rang M&S to find out where the 'free 20"' was and they informed me that neither of my TVs had been dispatched yet:rolleyes: Just checked my CC and i have not been charged for either tv yet!!
Perhaps they will deliver me another 40" when the 20" comes:p

I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
