Calls from USA
Does anyone know the cheapest way to call from USA. I am on Vodafone pay as you talk. The vodafone 'passport' is not available in USA and the cost quoted on the vodafone site is £1.25/min. Text is 49p so that may be the way to go. Any help would be much appreciated.

Use a calling card. You can buy them in loads of places."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0

I think you will need to get a local SIM card. Don't forget also that phones over there work on different frequencies. GSM is on 850 and 1900, where ours are 900 and 1800, so a triband or quad- will be required. There are also CDMA and TDMA networks(different digital methods).
There seem to be T-mobile or Cingular SIMs on eBay. If you have friends over there that can buy the SIM for you, I'd take a look at Oxygen, which roams on Cingular, and has calls at 14 cents per minute, including international calls from this agent (they have told me that they can not ship out of the country)
