Phones 4U Buys DialAPhone

Thing is, that Phones 4U are part of Dextra.

Dextra provided the facility to connect to the networks, for companies such as The Mobile Outlet, PhoneBoxDirect etc and then cut off their dealer codes, which as they have said, caused them to cease trading.

Soon the only online options will be The Networks, Phones4U (and their companies) and CPW (And their companies)

Can anyone else see a conspirocy going on....

I dont believe 4u are part of Dextra I am sure I read somewhere that they split when Cauldwell sold out.

I'm sure I will be corrected if I am wrong.

Yes, they were sold to separate business groups, Dextra to an European group and Phones4u to a giant american group that owns large part of MGM and Warner Music among other things..

But I don't doubt there's a lot more to this story than whats out there. The telecoms industry is rife with shady deals, from tax evasion to forgery, poaching and whatever else. Whoever thinks this was just a string of bad businesses going wrong is being naive imho
  • I quite agree with that. It's been plain to me since the spring of last year that this is no coincidence; every single established small cashback dealer suddenly started displaying precisely the same problem signs with regard to their cashback claimants. I always thought the networks must have been behind it - possibly the start of a new financial year. Far too much of a coincidence for them ALL to have problems at the same time! Not JUST the usual suspects - but the good ones like The Mobile Shop too. Soundbites from one or two dealers in recent months suggest my conclusion/suspicion was correct.
  • hi there,
just got new mobile on cashback deal £35/month from diaphone. should i send it back or take risk. as their deal with Phones4u is going to be completed on 29/02/08 i don't think Phones4 u will honour dialphone's responsibility. thanks.
