Went through Quidco and used my Capital one card for an extra 4% cashback as well to make it all just a tad cheaper.:D
Thanks OP for this one.
Parking there though costs nearly as much as the room!
Sent you a pm:j0 -

Doesn't make any odds either way, £19 is £19. Just pointing out the 'sale' (green icons) DID start bang on 6am, as opposed to other posters claiming it had started early.
I didn't interpret the other person's post in the way you did
Either way, the £19 rooms were available before their stated sale time, I don't think I would have got them else!0 -
sparkleworld, royal scot kings cross is about 10 mins walk from kings cross station and only 5 mins from the tube, tidy rooms as all travel lodge rooms are,but excellent for sight seeing round london. enjoy:j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j0

Sorry, but the Royal Scot is a hovel, I stay away in budget hotels on a very regular basis, and following a recent stay, expecting a reasonable standard from Travelodge, this dump cost £81 weeknights.
I e-mailed Travelodge to express my disgust, only to receive the usual rubbish, at least Premier Inns will give you your money back!
I can't blame you for taking a room for this price, but the Ritz, it is not!!Filiss0 -

As i said before, i know..
They are called 'super saver' rooms. They have them all the time on there if you can book 18 days in advance, sale or no sale... Used many a time.
And also as previously said, makes no odds. £19 is £19 however it's reached.
I was just pointing out the 'easter sale' had started, and bang on time too, not standard supersaver rooms. Therefore offering people a much wider choice of the £19 rooms.
Glad you booked some anyway - enjoy your break

A little unfair. The place is not a "hovel"....just a typical Travelodge, but in a super location for a short break in London. Agreed, full price £81 is high but London hotels are expensive full stop. I must admit that I am a great Travelodge fan and I may overlook minor faults but I would not stay in a hovel.
I stayed for three nights last month at a pre-booked cheap rate £29 per night. On the last night the hot water failed on the entire floor. I mentioned this the next morning and the full amount of the 3 night booking was refunded to my credit card.
In my book, three cheers for Travelodge. At £19 per night for a room which can sleep 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children this is superb value. I defy anyone to find better value in London (except if you are dead lucky, the odd £1 Hoxton)"If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

I maintain that the Royal Scot is a disgrace to the name of Travelodge and they should make it clear to travellers that the rooms are in dire need of refurbishment, of course, they won't!
Obviously, I appreciate how inexpensive the reduced rooms can be for a travelling family etc., but I simply cannot trust Travelodge, how can anyone tell the state of one of their lodges from a hotel description?
Can I suggest that anyone who has stayed at a bad one post it here to let people judge for themselves? Not only Travelodge, any other well known chains should also be named and shamed.
We should be able to trust these'leading brands' I have never stayed at a bad Travelinn ( Premier Inn) perhpas their money back guarantee has something to do with it!
Travelodge would not dare risk such a guarantee based on the Royal Scot!Filiss0 -

Oh dear, you have had a bad time. Really sorry about that. But my experiences here do not bear this out.."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

if i dont pay too much for a hotel i dont expect much, but it must still provide the basics and be clean
stayed in loads of 4-5 star hotels and cheaper hotels like travelodge and generally hotels in this country are a disgrace....stay in a hotel in Thailand or Hong Kong and even tho you pay a fraction (sometimes 1/10th) of the price of hotels in this country, they are miles better in terms of service, quality of finish/fittings......
as a example - i stayed on business at the crowne plaza in birmingham holliday st....prob the worst 4 star hotel ive ever stayed in......chewing gum on the headboard, falling apart, no light master switch, 1970's decor, 1980's tv, repair work so laughable my 7 year old son could do better blindfolded, could go on...luckily my company paid the bill at a reduced rate of 95.00, but the usual rate is 200 (lol!)...£20/night is too much!!Stevie Coppell's record breaking blue and white royal army - championship winners 2005-60
