About three years ago I bought a pack of muslin cloths to use instead of cotton wool with my cleanser and toner - they are still as good as new and I must have saved a fortune in cotton wool pads over that time. I just use them and put them in the washing machine. I bought mine from Martha Hill - 5 for £3.50:-

but I'm sure you could make your own out of a piece of soft muslin.

What a great idea. I have a stash of cotton wool pads at the mo, but, that just gives me time to hunt around and find the best priced.
Thanks Testee.:money:"And crawling on the planet's face,

Would these be like the muslin nappy squares? I have quite a few of these I use for cleaning mirrors as they are lint free.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

They do look a great idea. I have always used cotton wool. I have never seen anything like that here though, although to be truthful they could be at chemists around the makeup. I"ll go and have a look next time I'm in town. Great that you can wash them and you said they last ages.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0

Muslin cloths are great. They slighty exfoliate your skin too, but it is very gentle.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.

Lakeland used to do a bag full of small cotton towelling pads for this, you can then wash them in the washing machine, they were slightly rough and excellent for exfoliating, I don't know if they still do themLoretta0

Mrs MATH uses a v.expensive skincare line which sends out muslin cloths with their products. We have hundreds of them, some well over a decade old and they're still going strong. I don't use Mrs MATH's expensive stuff on my chops but they still work and exfoliate and clean pore deep much better than a toweling face cloth IMOLife's a beach! I've just bought a load of cloths for cleaning my son when I'm changing his nappy. I guess they would be just as effective. I got them in the co op with the baby stuff and they are on 25% off at the moment. :money:
Great tip by the way! If I wore make up I'd certainly use them! I might try tthem for exfoliating though as I find a flannel a bit rough. (Hence the softer cloths for baby's bottom.)May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
This is a good idea,, thanks - I bought lots of those muslin squares for the baby and never used then , they just sat in the drawer, and I do get through a lot of cotton wool. I have discovered a cleanser from Tesco - Vitamin cleanser - it's about 80p and gets off all the slap very well. Now to try it with a muslin!0

The cloths for mummy's face/baby's bottom are Cotton Bottoms Baby Wipes. They are natural cootton and come in a pack of 12, 6 with blue stitching and 6 pink. (Handy for knowing which are for face and which are for other regions!)
They are quite large but I think muslin squares are usually a bit bigger. Co-op is doing an offer on them. They are normally £7 for a pack of 12 but are 25% off. £5.25. This makes them cheaper than muslin squares but whether they're as good at removing make-up I couldn't say!
They wash up to 60 degrees and can be tumble dried.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -

I buy this cleanser for me and the kidz cos I don't allow them to use soap on their faces. It works as well as others 4 and 5 times the price.Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0
