  • Yeah thanks Millionaire!

I've got a T-Mobile contract on £35 a month and then mobile internet on top of that at £7.50 a month. Need to sit down and properly work out how much of the contract I use up, but I am quite a texter if I'm honest!

As for the mobile internet, since getting it I've found it priceless when lost in London!!

Action #1 - Check out actual need for £35 mobile contract!

    Thanks :T

My son is up at Uni now so I pay for his phone. On O2 I pay £25 a month and he gets 600 minutes +1000 texts a month with free ( extra) unlimited texts on Sat, Sun and Monday.
  • Just updated my sig with latest SOA!

Have to say I'm a little disappointed to only see my grand total reduced by a £100 or so,

If it helps cheer you up Paranoid 124 your DFD is Nov 2008...mine won't be until April 2030,lol..

    Hey Chimp Choker!

    Love the nick! Lol!

Thanks for your post, was beginning to think my ramblings to the nation were going unheard, or worse still I'd bored everyone to sleep!

Really interested to hear more about the O2 contract as I've managed to degrade my tarriff to the lowest they offer (£15/month) but it doesn't leave me with many texts of minutes! Not sure if I'd be able to cancel my contract (although I am now 6 months into it, plus the previous 18 months custom), but if I could I'd definitely move to that £25 deal!!

Hi paranoid 124, I used to be called the paranoid android, never actually found out why... same as some now call me the emperor... probably a gobby or bossy character out of that recent penguin film... The chimp choker handle comes from the fact i live in Hartlepool... not that I'm into animal abuse as one person thought....

http://shop.o2.co.uk/tariffs/sim_only this link is the 02 shop sim only deal I was on about. there are a lot of variations on price.

http://www.o2.co.uk/termsconditions/currentpromotions this link is about 02 treats for loyalty customers.
If not see about the free sims. You can ask for up to 4 and so long as you credit one of them ( or more) with £10 a month they work ok. Obviously they have different allowances etc but it's worth checking out. This is especially the case if you have family or friends on O2 as all 02 to 02 calls are free so you could use your tenner a month only on text s...
    Hope these work.

    Cheers!

My nick is actually based on the Paranoid Android theme - specifically Marvin the Paranoid Android from the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy (love the books and radio series) its been my nick for over 10 years now on the net.

Will look into those links, thanks, but as I say I'm only 6 months into an 18 month contract so not sure whether I can break out at the moment.

As for my daily update - I stuck to my NSD today! Was up past midnight last night as I had forgotten to make my packed lunch, and then I forgot to take it with me this morning! But as fortune would have it, work put on a little free lunch for the team as we've just completed a key programme, so was saved from digging out my small change, and now I had a packed lunch already for use tomorrow!

I will have to find a link o a video I had for someone who lost it at work... it will really cheer you up.
  • Congratulations on your promotion, you seem to be making good progress and the payrise will certainly help.

With Rome set your self a realistic target because if you are too strict you will probably go over and then think what the hell.

    Hey guys,

I'm feeling a bit better today thanks. A certain someone at work has been off sick for the last two days, so I've been able to get on with my job without being interrupted every few seconds!

    Spending update today:

    Soup for lunch - 50p
Can of Diet Coke - 55p
Snack on way home - £1.71

    Total Spending Today: £2.76p

Total Spending so far this week: £19.42

Pretty pleased with that considering my budget for food alone is £25 a week, and the above figure is weekly food and extras!

Got my mum's birthday this weekend, so means I would normally spend £15 to get to the airport, and would probably spend a load of money back up home.

For a start, I'm going to look at taking the tube to the airport as work pays for a zone 1-6 ticket already. But does mean a longer journey over and getting myself out of work earlier than normal.

If anyone has any ideas as to what is a nice money-free present for a mother who is celebrating a BIG birthday, please let me know!

Shame on me! I purposefully went into work today with the intention of buying my lunch...and I did!

£3.75 later and I felt pretty guilty.

On top of this I also spent another £40 for a work social (karting endurance race). Was brilliant fun and just what I needed, but obviously not in keeping with my money saving regime.

So Total Spend for this week goes up to a whopping: £62.42

I think I'm still within budget really, and next week if I continue with the 3 packed lunches and NSD's I'll be well within budget - have no plans for next weekend as its the start of the Formula One season and will be spending some very late nights watching the live feed from Australia...should keep me out of mischief and make up for tonights transgressions!
