Can you port a PAYG No?

I have had orange PAYG for years but as the reception I receive seems to be getting worse and non-existent at my place of work, I am thinking about using one of my free PAYG sim cards I've collected over the years, probably vodafone as the reception seems to be the best.
But, I would love to keep the same orange number I've always used, does anyone know if this is possible, and, whether there would be a charge made?
Thanks.

yes, just ask orange for a PAC and then give this to your next PAYG provider and it will port over within 7 days usually.
there shouldn't be a charge at all.0 -
Have finally got around to actually doing this. Will be doing a deal through OneStopPhoneShop with O2 with a free wii. However, O2 need the pac code before placing the order so, I rang Orange to get the code, took 8 minutes at 25p per minute!
Good riddance to Orange!"Hope for the Best

Are you sure? I should have been a one off payment of 25p to customer services! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
