... when your DDs tooth falls out & although you're excited for her on the outside ...

... inside you're crying because it's gonna cost you one of your prized £2 coins :o
  • .. when you have a small sticker on your credit/debit card(s) saying "DFW" to remind yourself :o Anyone else do this?

.. when the cashier as Asda sighs in frustration as you say "I changed my mind on that/I dont want it anymore" after seeing the price on the scanner. :o

You have the whole family making 'newspaper pots' to grow veg seeds in (obviously we get people to save newspapers for us, we don't buy them).

Buy next xmas presents in Jan sale (obviously saved up the whole year before so don't pay interest on credit cards/loans.

Buy everything possible on tesco credit card (and pay off each month) to get as many points as possible.

Every holiday has been reduced before booking and topped up with a £9 travel lodge.

Everything possible is composted=free compost for my allotment

Our TV is 15 years old but it is staying until it breaks (even though it needs 2 people to lift it and if people on tv stand at the side of the screen we can no longer see them as tv now seems to cather for wide screens)

White vinegar, bi-carb, olive oil and lemon juice do all my cleaning

I am proud that my 'rubber chickens' stretch so far

I can shock family and friends when i tell them how cheap our food bills are

My children don't feel they miss out on things but they realise that money doesn't make you happy. They realise that it says more about people who have to have designer clothes, shoes, bags etc than people who don't

Money saving have bought some lovely nights in with my family which i will treasure for ever.

1p bowling has given us lots of laughs

Kids cheap cinemas are a regular occurance in our house and we have fun sneaking our own drinks and sweets in.

Can't get babysitters so me and my DH meet at home at lunch time and have a 'posh candle lit oldstyle' meal...it feels like a real treat

I have loads more but i could bore you all for hours...i love this thread i have laughed and laughed.

sallymander "When you can't tell if your washings still damp or just really cold because you refuse to put the heating on" OH always moans that his clothes aren't dry...he gets the reply "of course they are, just a bit chilly" (I hope)

I put my Christmas decs away the other day and spent more time and care doing that than when they went on the tree to make sure they are in perfect condition next year so I won't have to buy any more!
