Now, perhaps we can get this thread back on topic and help solve Edinburghlass' immersion heater problem.

I'm afraid I have to agree with YorkshireBoy here. I would expect board guides to be a bit selective in handing out "Thanks", after all it does say "For this useful post" and it seems to me that they are being dished out as though they are going out of fasion. I apreciate every single "thanks" I have received but I don't remember one being given just for replying, but more, I hope because the post was "useful".
I've seen so many congratulation posts to people just because they have passed a certain number of posts. Please don't let's ruin a good idea by aiming the "thanks" button in the same direction.

P.S. Pink and Edinburghlass, please don't take this as personal, I've been wanting to say this for a while because it is happening everywhere.

You are saying not to take it personally and yet you mention board guides shouldn't be handing out thanks, sorry but that sounds pretty personal to me.

Anyway this subject is not for this thread and you are too late to post on this one here but I am sure you can post on the thread in This Site here.

I asked a question. It was answered (ie it was useful to me). I thanked. I really can't understand the problem that you and Yorkshireboy seem to have with that.

Board guides are volunteers. It says in our signatures that our views are our own. Are you suggesting that because we are board guides we should not be entitled to thank when we want to?

You say not to take it personally......yet you mention two of us by name. By doing that you make it personal.

May I take this opportunity to remind you that if you have a complaint about any posts or thanks on these boards you should contact abuse@moneysavingexpert.com
