Missing money from Cahoot

Cahoot have appaling customer services. They are pre programmed to give you a random answer selected from a list which has no relation to the question you are asking. I have given up calling their CS or even using their on line contact facility

I now see the complete advantage of being a high street banker.

As soon as I return from holidays I am going to close my account and open a high street one - at least the hassle of getting into town on a Saturday will outweight the knowledge that my money isn't going to go missing between the cashiers hands and mine!

I have a small overdraft which will cover maybe half of my costs but I really don't want to extend this - I've been completely debt free and a cash user for so long this has really riled me.

I find that transfers from cahoot to any other account seem to take a full 4 working days - eg. a transfer requested after 4pm Friday will be processed on Monday and will arrive in the destination account the following Friday at the earliest.

With my Lloyds TSB account it only takes 2-3 working days and they continue to pay interest during this period.

As it's cahoot's mess-up, ask them to transfer the funds to your other account by telegraphic transfer at their own expense so that it's available same day.

And then suggest that they do a BACS trace to find THEIR missing money.
