  • Hello, I am enjoying this forum very much! It is very encouraging and I intend to start aiming towards a debt free life. I want to save up enough to pay off my loan by the end of this year!!

Could someone explain what "daily clicks" are?

    Hi everyone,

I love this thread! This is the first time i've contributed though as the internet at home has been playing up.

    Today I will:

    - restart my spending diary
    - plan how to pay my overdraft off
    - work out my spending for this month inc min spend on CC and bills
    - make beef hotpot from fridge and cupboard ingredients
    - check my online banking
    - make lunch from fridge stuff that needs using up
    - make a start in sorting out my money paperwork
    - make homemade bread and freeze half the loaves so they don't go stale before we get to them.
    - poss do a menu plan
    - look at my beautiful valentines flowers to make myself feel special instead of spending money

    Good luck everyone!

    Ali xx

  • Hi all
Am new to the forums although not the main site. Just found this thread and it has to be one of the most motivating things I have seen in a while - big up to you guys!
Today I will: work from home so lunch from fridge and no petrol. Jumper on and heating down!
Finish decorating study - on the cheap - recycled curtains and used up paint from garage!
Chase up market research companies for chance to earn extra ££
Pay a bit of spare cash onto cc
    Check online banking
Find out what 'clicks' are? May need to do some too!
    Have a good day.

  • So far today? I bought the cheapest thing on the menu for lunch (which is pre-loaded by the company but I can still try and stretch it as long as before having to add my own money to it!), and I've got a few Ebay listings to do tonight.

Oh, last night I turned the heating off in anger at another nasty Scottish Power bill. Wore clothes to bed. That must save some cash surely?!
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

Know the feeling about the heating bathgatebuyer, am off to check mine out in a minute and see if i can get it any cheaper. Problem is in our house, that as soon as you turn the heating down someone else puts it up again!

There are sites called cashback sites that give you what is essentially free money. They pay you small amounts for doing minor things ("clicks").

You might find it helpful to read this thread or this one, as they explain it better than I could.

  • Hi all,

  • Hello all!
    • I did an hour's overtime at work, which is worth £8.50 for me after tax.
    • I made my own lunch for work (ham sandwiches) and someone was having a birthday so I have filled up on their - shop bought - goodies (carrot cake, chocolate cake and coffee cake!!!)
    • I've posted on this thread (fourth money-saving day in a row).
    • DS1 has hockey practice and normally I drive there, drop him off and come back home, then same to pick him up but today I am gonna walk him up there, then walk back down - I'll have to drive to pick him up again though as it's late.
    • I've had a re-mortgage offer, so I need to post the signed form back to them, and then the signed form back to the solicitors. This will save me about £45 a month, plus about £300 'leftover' which will go towards my overdraft reduction fund.
    • I have checked my internet banking to make sure all is in order.
    • I have updated my budget spreadsheet accordingly.
    • I went supermarket shopping yesterday evening with a list and only bought what was on that list (a first!!!)
    • Another day with no personal spends on myself (my fourth in a row)
    Start Date: 27/11/2010
    Padding: Day 42
    Target £8000
    Amount: £562.23
