5p texts & 10p pm calls to 3 fav numbers on PAYG!

I've tried to find information on Tesco Mobile in the forums and on the site and I'm surprised that I can't find any mention of it anywhere...

Tesco Mobile

I'm not sure how many people will find the PAYG tarrifs worthwhile, but since I mainly use my mobile to text my other half it was ideal for me. From paying 12p a text with Orange to 5p this was certainly worth doing!

Summary of tarriffs:
3 favorite numbers: 5p texts, 10p/min calls (incl mobiles on any network and land lines)
All other numbers: 10p texts, 20p/min calls

Also, they offer 50 free texts if you register a clubcard with them - however in my experience you could get this as a £5 credit to use on calls... let me explain.

Having had only one mobile number I requested my PAC and initiated the transfer. I had registered for my free texts on my temporary number, and when my permanent number became active, I had £2.50 more credit than I expected.

I assume it was the unused credit from the texts I registered for on the temporary number... I'm not sure if it was a permanent credit or if it would expire after the month (since if you don't use the 50 texts in a month, they won't carry over).

Hope someone finds the service as useful to them as I have!

Also there doesnt appear to be anything to stop you registering the 1899/18866 0207 access no,or the simply fone 07744 no,or similar,as a friend. Which would mean that you would get cheaper calls to everybody not just the chosen 3.

I wouldnt try the cheap dial before numbers. I tried it and lost nearly £5. Thot I was getting 1p/min as the the message before the call suggested but was being charged 20p/min.

I wasnt suggesting that you use 0844/0845/0870 indirect access cheap call providers. You cannot register them as a friend, and they are charged at 20p a minute irrespective of what the tariff announcement says.(The tariff announcement eg 1p a minute only applies to calls from a landline).

However 07744 and 0207 access numbers, and other mobile no access no,s eg https://www.pre-dial.com (Click on free destination list to see them) could be registered as a friend, could they not. ;)
