Tesco Direct ~ Ha Ha

HiJACKer, you are definately not alone! I placed my first order with Tesco Direct shortly before Christmas, arranged to pick it up instore, got it home and realised half of it was missing so had to call customer service and they said 'Oh yes, there weren't any left so it was cancelled. Do you want a refund?' Well, thanks for letting me know when I picked it up and I had to chase up my own refund.
Last week I ordered from them for the second time, it was to be picked up instore this afternoon. Lunchtime I got a phonecall saying there was a problem and the order was cancelled.
So twice I order and twice they cancelled. I'll never be using them again, totally disgusted.
Blahdog - I don't think it's intentional, I doubt very much they would be a successful company if they treated all their customers in this fashion, just incredibly poor that they let customers down.Norn Iron Club member 273:beer:0 -
if you go to a local supermarket sometimes products will not be available - due to high consumer demand - surely then delivery service is in the same possition as orders are filled at local large tesco stores!!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0

If you go into your local supermarket and it isn't there then you can't pick it up, put it in your basket or pay for it. Their stock issues need to be dealt with, it's not as if I only ordered 1 item, my previous order there were 2 different items and the most recent order contained 5 different items.
I've not been ordering grocery items and in fact the items that I ordered the first time were available on the shelf but they insist that they are completely separate.Norn Iron Club member 273:beer:0 -
How come other home delivery service are much more efficient? I have had no problem with Sainsbury’s or Ocado. My problem has been with Tesco’s. It is not just a one of with them either. The service is not good.
With Sainsbury’s one thing with them is that you cannot change your order with less than about 16 hours before it is due. With Tesco this is different they need to get more efficient with the home delivery orders.sillyvixen wrote: »if you go to a local supermarket sometimes products will not be available - due to high consumer demand - surely then delivery service is in the same possition as orders are filled at local large tesco stores!!0 -
I had originally posted on teh Grabbit board, but was redirected here.
We ordered a camera & picture card (for use with the camera) through Tesco Direct & opted to collect in store.
When we went to collect just over a week ago they had delivered an IPod & the picture card, so we said could we have the camera please. The store called Tesco Direct & then told us the camera was out of stock & Tesco Direct had refunded our money. They then returned the picture card & IPod to Tesco Direct.
We got home & found an email stating that the cost of the camera had been refunded but not the picture card.
We phoned & were told the rest of the money would be refunded & we would be emailed.
We have phoned numerous times in the last week as we have had no confirmation that the money has been refunded.
We got a credit card statement today & the money hasn't been refunded
I phoned Tesco Direct again & was told they have a long backlog of refunds to do manually & there will be a delay in refunding our money - could take up to another 2 weeks.
This is the first and definately the last time we have used Tesco Direct.
They just keep politely appologising & doing nothing (apart from keeping our money)
Has anyone any suggestions?0 -

I agree. When I use to get home deliveries due to injuring first my ankle then my knee:
1. The delivery driver didn't drive down my road and stated they couldn't find my house number. If you are legally able to drive then you are able to see the house number from the road.
2. The guy finding I was in a flat up some stairs dragged the stuff up the stairs , hitting the stairs as he went and then forgot to deliver all the frozen items. Luckily for me all the items where cans, packets and bottles so didn't break.
The Ocado and Sainsbury's drivers where polite and friendly, and none of them complained about delivering it up stairs. Sainsbury's did forget a few items on one delivery but when I rang up the staff where much politer than Tesco's.
I also now go out of my way to shop in Sainsbury's rather than Tesco's as the staff in my local Tesco's store are rude. (Not all Tesco's stores have rude staff.)I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Post how you get on annie
I phoned this number after I read this thread earlier this evening & actually spoke to someone polite & helpful. He promised to look into my refund & to email me before 11pm tonight - he has just emailed conforming that the refund has been processed but it may take til Tuesday at the latest to show up on my credit card account.
So thank you very much for this useful information.0
