Tesco Direct ~ Ha Ha

 I have ordered form Tesco direct twice now, and on each occasion at least one item has not been delivered on my order.... When I have phoned to complain they are apologetic but in a sarcastic voice:rolleyes:

I am very rapidly going off, off Tesco's mainly because of their attitude and LACK of customer relations.......

Has anyone else had the same problem with them?

    Nope.

Do you think in their training they're told to 'be sarcastic'? Nope, don't think so...

Do you think their system automatically cancels 'at least one item' from orders just so they get to deal with angry customers? Again, no I don't think so...

TD have always been great for me and the one time something (a bolt) was missing from a package, I phoned them up and they sorted it for me straight away.

Also, Tesco does not have an 's' at the end; it's just 'Tesco'.

I can imagine it's more a case of you've decided it was sarcastic.

Over the 2/3 years we've had our shopping delivered we've only had one spate of poor deliveries - one missed all the frozen food off, one all the fridge food and a few others with things missing or wrong.

But as it seemed to stop as abruptly as it started, I'm guessing they had a particularly poor staff at the time, or perhaps lots were away or something like that?

I found the people on the telephone to be very friendly though, if like a stuck record. They could not re-deliver the frozen/fresh food for three/four days respectively and I had to be very persistent in getting the admin charge removed! They argued I should still pay for the delivery because they had delivered, but I argued I still had to go to the shop as I could not go without fresh/frozen food for that long!

  • I have written to Tesco Direct Customer Services in Dundee today to make a formal complaint. I bought a bed, which was delivered without the base slats. Won't go into all the details here but I have spent the last month trying to get the slats delivered as my DS is having to sleep on a mattress on the floor atm.

I'm fed up with being given conflicting information, having promises made that aren't honoured and generally just being messed around. Certainly won't be in a hurry to shop with them again.

Hi - CAll 01382 822400 - Ask for Andrew Shearer, Gillian Bowman or Kim Henderson (Kim is on after 6.30pm weekdays). They are in a better position to get your slats or at least a new bed ;) Post how you get on annie

  • Middleman, thanks for that info. Think my letter must have done the trick though as the slats are being delivered tomorrow (spoke to the delivery company today). Of course, if they don't arrive then I may just need that info. ;)

    Thanks again.

  • Tesco Direct need to improve because the home delivery service is poor. I stopped using them over a year ago because to often the freezer part of my shopping was just to incomplete. I decided to try them again just recently and they have not changed. I ordered six things for the freezer and only two came. I was just not happy at all so i rang up and got my delivery fee back. I will have to go into town now to buy what i never got delivered.
I will not be using the Tesco home delivery service ever again.

Tesco should get more stock in or just organise things differently. It seems that if you book an early morning delivery with Tescos that your chances of having part of your shopping incomplete is higher.

I do like one thing about Tesco though and that is that they do not put a limit on how little you can spend.

Sainsburys is really much more efficient then Tescos. I used them in the year that i stopped using Tescos and only once was my freezer stuff not in stock. It has been multiple times with Tescos. Sainsburys did not have my item in for me once but they said they would get it out to me later that evening. I will just stick with them in the future even though i have to pay at least £25 to shop with them.
