I would chose a shorter veil to go with that, then it doesn't take away any of the beautiful design of the dress :D

Got my fingers crossed for all those of you whose dresses are on the way, I think I have just been unlucky in that they couldn't interpret what I wanted into the actual dress(es) I received. Everyone else's I've seen from Landybridal/asapbay have been lovely though. I am disappointed but I guess they cannot be perfect ALL the time!

I have just emailed to ask for a refund on the petticoat I never received, and explained that the dress is still different to what we discussed and agreed on before they re-made it, and it doesn't have the hooky bit to take it up for the evening and it's still much too big. I know I could get these things altered myself but it was agreed with them that they would make it to my exact measurements and remember to put the hook/bustle in this time as it was forgotten before. I still have the email where Vivian lists what will be changed on this new dress and it's still not all been done, so I am not happy and explained this. I have asked for a refund on the dress, the website states that incorrectly made dresses can be re-made or refunded, so having tried the first option once already I just want a refund now.

Lastly, remember the wonky ties? She agreed before that they were not right but asked if I could sort them myself. I tried to re-align them and press them into place but because they've been sewn wrongly they just spring back to 'wonky-ness', so I have also asked that these be refunded too as they can't wear them as they are and now I have to buy new ones.

I feel like I'm demanding quite a bit, but at the end of the day I paid for a 2 hoop petticoat and didn't get it, received ties that can't be worn and got a dress that isn't quite what I asked for. I will send it all back if that's what's needed, but I begrudge paying for these things that I can't use or are not what I ordered.

Hope it's just me, and that everyone else is just right! No-one needs all this in their wedding planning lol.

You have every right to demand a refund honeypop, it is not what you ordered, even a 2nd time around. They should, by rights give you a full refund for everything.
  • Katie - I'm so glad that you and your mum are pleased with the dress.

Honeypop - I guess your requirements were 'lost in translation'. You have every right to ask for your money back if the goods are not what you ordered/not arrived. Good luck. Let us know how you get on. :)

I know you're not happy and are right to buy your backup. But I do think you look lovely in the first dress. The pics of you in it are so much nicer than the pics of the dress on its own. I'd have a punt with eBay if Landy don't want it back. Any money you get for it is better than nought. And I'm sure someone would like it.

Yes, if she doesn't want them back they will be going on ebay. They're not BAD dresses as such, just not what I wanted, and they will do someone a treat if it's what they are looking for.

ok here's the photos of the dress.
I am not 100% happy with it, its not very well fitted and mum is going to have to adjust it. They've cut quite a few corners but i suppose thats how they make them cheaper.
Once mum's adjusted it it should be fine :)

It's a gorgeous dress Katie. TBH I wasn't 100% happy with mine the first time I tried it on and I can't say that if I'd got a dress from here it would have fitted any better.

Mine looked so much better with the right petticoat under it as it gave a bit of support to the weight of it and made it fit better.

Definitely a shorter veil you don't want to cover that embroidery up.

But you look stunning in it :T

Don't forget, it will have been stuffed in a tiny box for days. Once it has been hung for a few days you shoudl try it back on. And like paddingtondoo says, with the right undies and petticoat it could make the world of difference to how it looks and feels on you. I have my fingers crossed for you honey ;)

Took some pics if anyone wants to see...

    Second Dress

You can see the difference from the first dress to this one, in the ones where I lay them side by side. The bust is now beads instead of embroidery but the side detail is missing on the new one. Also, you can see how the beads are a bit too large and give it a 'bobbly' appearance.

As I say, it isn't terrible but still not what they agreed to, and the fit is awful. I honestly regret getting my dresses made here, I did lots of research into feedback on the dresses people had already received from Landy and everyone said they were great, but now it seems most people say they were just 'ok' when they arrived. I did get my bridesmaids dresses from her too, and they are simply 'alright', I don't have the time or energy to get different ones now. The thing is with those, I saw them listed with a different chinese ebay seller for cheaper, but asked Landy to make them as I heard her quality was fantastic and she charged more for them, I wish I'd had them made by the original seller for the lower price, especially as they might have been made better.

But it is a bargain for the price and you do save a lot of money compared to the originals, so I think you just need to take a chance on what you'll get.

If you're classing me as one of the people that said it was ok - there was nothing wrong with my dress at all it was my underwear that was at fault :rotfl:.

Mine also has a lace up back which is bound to make it fit better as it can be hauled in :o.

I really like the second dress and am sure someone will snap it up on ebay if you list it correctly but appreciate it not what you were wanting.

Unfortunately hindsight is a marvellous thing and you can't guarantee the other dresses would have been any better. Get on with your back up plan and put it out of your mind you'll look fantastic on the day!
