  • I think my cousin got hers from the same woman, and only a couple of alterations needed for the bridesmaids dresses, the bridal dress is perfect.

Hello, well my dress came today, at 1pm, was pacing and looking out the window from 8.30am, it was torture! After looking at it for half an hour i decided to open it here, i originally wasn't going to as we have a dog and for some reason anything to do with the wedding it is a magnet to dog hairs. But i did in my son's room, and well i was numb when i saw it, i have been waiting for so long for it, tried on the original maggie one, got the picture of it printed and look at it every day, and well it wasn't the same... I know it wouldn't as i know they have to change something on it due to copyrights etc, but i felt nothing :( . I was looking at myself in the mirror, with my shoes, jewellery and tiara on, and it was yes it's a lovely dress, excellent quality, top material like the ones in the shop, but it wasn't the dress i had in my head, the original. I took it off and went to my dad's so he could take photo's, he could see by my face i wasn't sure, explained to him that it was different, and the neckline that i asked to be changed wasn't done as much as i had asked and shown photo's of the sweetheart neckline that i wanted, and wasn't as covered or sparkly that i had paid for, went upstairs to get changed, when i got back in the lounge he was like oh it looks fine, until i pointed out that i was holding the dress up, and the bottom half was my underskirt bless him ;) So in the garden we go, and i let the dress down, and he was full of compliments, i was expecting a "that's alright isn't it" so to hear him say i looked lovely, he said i was sparkling allover the place and any more would of been to much, as the beads i asked for shoot off so many different colours, and any more beads and it would of been too much. After some photo's (which i will add when he sends me them) i looked again in his mirror, and i can see it's a beautiful dress but well i don't know. I got home and kids got back from school, and asked if the dress was here, so i decided to put it on again for them to see and comment, knowing kids they tell the truth, daughter said i looked lovely, but could see it was different, and son was mum you look gorgeous, really beautiful, ah bless him. Stood in front of the mirror for ages, with the sun catching the beads, and god yes i was sparkling!, and you know what i fell in love with the dress:j.
The dress is gorgeous, the quality is amazing for the price tag, it only needs about half and inch to one whole one taken in on the bust and the sweetheart neckline making more obvious and it will be perfect, getting that sorted in the morning.

So was it worth it?? 100% yes!!! The dress was £800, before all my alterations, ok its not 100% the same, but it is stunning and i would do it all again. I highly recommend landy, her communication is great, the workman ship is fantastic.

Sorry for the extensive waffling, i have had a few vodka's :o but that is it for me now, everything is done and dusted just got to wait till the 22 of may till i say i do, so i thought why not have a drink, as OH got a new job today also, so double celebration :j

Oh K8te, I am so glad it was ok in the end and thanks so much for your honesty, Would be great to see some pictures when you get them, cant wait to see them.

I know what you mean about expecting it to be just the same, I keep telling myself that it won't be just the same as the designer one but it is hard, keep looking at the designers picture too, which probably won't help.

From what you have said it really does sound like it is a beautiful dress xx

Ahh, you made a tear come to my eye reading that bit, I thought it was all a disaster reading up that point!

Glad that you liked it in the end, would love to see pics (only cos mine will be the same one - almost).

I can understand what you mean K8te, the dress I bought was my second choice but the more I look at it, and the pictures of me in it, the more I prefer it to my first choice... Glad you've got it and you can stop worrying now xx
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Was sooo glad I read all the way to the bottom of your post K8te was concerned that we hadn't heard from you yesterday.

There's nothing that can't be fixed and it's difficult to explain exactly what you want over email. I didn't try the original of my dress on so can't compare them directly.

Think of it this way - your dress was individually made for you and no one else will have one exactly the same - far more personal in my opinion.
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p
