    Hi, I totally understand why anyone would want to bottle feed - I hated breast feeding myself, and even though I was even more determined to do it with my second with my first, I managed even less time doing it as I found it so depressing and invasive. Because we were on tax credits we got reduced price milk, from the local clinic - she could inquire about that, maybe? Although the two-for-one thing on Farleys is about the same price anyway, Boots do one for £10 for two, NOT sure whether you get points when you buy milk but I think you may do.
    We are in the Boots baby club; we get lots of goodies, including a free changing bag (when we bought a certain type of nappies), I've got a voucher for double points when I buy any of the following;
    BOOTS own-label baby products;
    PAMPERS nappies and wipes;
    HEINZ baby foods;
    PHILIPS AVENT bottles and sterilisers;
    JOHNSON'S BABY toiletries.

    pesky2's right, just go into the baby aisle of a supermarket/Boots etc and note down brands then Google them and sign up :) Hipp Organic, etc are good.

    On baby milk again - I would say to her, don't worry about brands; we started off with Aptamil, because it seemed the best, but the all seem pretty much the same - there are no 'cheap brand' baby milks that I know of!
    I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick @ss.... and I'm all out of bubblegum.
  • can i jus tadd tha tyou probly wont get a 'choice' in the type of milk the twins will need so dont stock up on milk when you see offers ect..
    i hav ehad to change my bubs milk twice now as a)she was sicky on it and b)to hungry on it just a thought. xx
    pswe got 3 tins of sma on ebay for £7 so keep looking when babies are born.
  • Hi, you should check your local Health Centre - ask your GP receptionist or the midwife where the Health Visitors are based - they almost always sell baby milk at virtually 1/2 the supermarket price - they are not into profit making, they are just interested in families. I know when Tesco were selling Aptamil at nearly 7 pounds, I used to get it from the clinic at 4 pound ish. They also have childrens vitamins etc for pence rather than pounds. Worth a look! Happy babies!!:j

    The clinics have stopped carrying milk now (was about a year ago when it changed) - if you qualify, you will get milk tokens through the tax credits system that you can now use for formula, fruit and veg as well as cows milk, but other than that there are no 'official' offers on first formula.

    The '2 for' type deals and manufacturer coupons are for follow on milk, which you shouldn't use for new borns anyway, and might not suit the little ones even after 6 months (we could never use it with any of our three).

    :)

    I hope she gives it a try with breastfeeding, it is possible to feed lying down and even asleep, which you cannot do with a bottle;)

    And once you've mastered it, it IS much easier than bottlefeeding - and you get to sit down a lot too!!!

    If you get from Tesco at least you can use their coupon policy, using coupons for other things against the milk.

    wow, what a wonderful bonding experience I missed out on by not feeding my son while I was asleep! :confused:

    Its also possible to get Dad to do the night feeds with a bottle which isn't possible with a breast!

    oh yes this is a god tip - I had to switch to Lactose Free milk and found I could buy unopened tins on ebay for about half price, even with postage I saved a bit!

    hiya ive got twins and when they were tiny i was lucky if i got half an hours sleep a night and i was bottle feeding them..can you imagine what it would've been like if i was breastfeeding them!?i know breast is best for most people but there are some people who dont want to...my babies were constantly hungry and i wouldnt of been able to leave the house without whipping my boobs out every 5 minutes..i agree there are NO offers on the first baby milks and we used to go through 3 tubs of cow and gate every week..if you can last until they are 6 months old, you can redeem your boots boots on the 6 months plus milk(the boots points start stacking up with all the nappies,wipes,baby jars you have to buy)..sorry i cant be much help!i take it your daughter works otherwise she wouldve got free babymilk(the system is sooo unfair,i think ALL babies should get free milk)

    by the way we are on tax credits and we have to pay full price for baby milk. i think the system changed a couple of years ago
