I wanna find offers on baby milk

My daughter is expecting twins in May.
Baby milk, eg. cow & gate, sma, is quite expensive, especially for twins.
I asked at the baby clinic how much it is because I used to get mine there at a reasonable price. They said that the government stopped the clinics from selling the baby milk last year.
There never seems to be any offers or vouchers for baby milk anywhere.
Can anyone help please

Is your daughter sure she doesn't want to breastfeed?

It is possible with twins and much less hassle than sterilising bottles etc, plus v moneysaving ....plus she'll lose tons of weight feeding 2 babies ! :T

In terms of baby milk - shops are not allowed to offer coupons/vouchers/discounts on newborn formula so it would just be a case of shopping around.
  • hi, I used Farley's after midwife recommendation on both my 2 and found it to be cheapest at Asda, but sometimes Sainsbury's and Superdrug have a 2 tins for £9 which was good so I used to stock up then. HTH

  • At the moment she doesn't want to breastfeed.
I don't know if she will try once they are born, especially when she thinks of how much money she could save.
  • Sign up to the baby club thingy on cow&gate website - they regularly send me £1 off coupons in the post...

Remember to claim milk tokens (erm, healthy start tokens..) too..
  • Manufacturers and shops aren't allowed to do promotions (or even advertise!) milk aimed at babies under 6 months old.

With twins the cost of formula is going to be lots. Breastfeeding would save her a fortune!

There aren't ever any 'offers' on first milks (for babies under 6 months) because they are not allowed to 'promote' formula feeding - you don't get reward points for buying first formula milk either (eg, nectar points, tesco clubcard points etc).

She would definately save herself a small fortune if she breastfed them....you never know, she might change her mind once the babies have arrived....I actually found it easier to BF than FF.

Whilst it is correct that it's illegal to promote or discount baby milk, I was able to use a Superdrug glitch a few times when buying milk (my youngest has been off formula for a while now though so this may have changed).

Every Superdrug I've ever bought milk in has taken the 10% till spit coupons against it without query. Of course I was generally shopping for other (eligible) things too - whether they would have been as relaxed if I'd only bought milk I don't know.

    :)

But you wouldn't put a baby on soya milk just because it's cheaper, would you? You would only use it if advised to by your GP, MW or HV?
