what boots in edinburgh do youz find best of getting bargains? i usually use the gyle and the one on princes street and can never find anything! maybe im just looking in the wrong place!

Princes St and Fort/Gyle have the best selections and usually the big products, but the best ones for bargains as in clearance are the little branches I think, the ones that have local customers rather than being in a big shopping centre.

Edit: Just for information, I put "Edinburgh" into the Boots store locator and it came up with approx twenty branches just within the city, plus more on the perimeter. (Searches are usually centred on the old Princes St PO sorting offices.) One day, I think I'll do the equivelent of a pub crawl round the lot, lol!

  • Okay - I may have missed this one ... but I'm just reporting in about the S&G shopper bag.
I was in my store this afternoon armed with a S&G points voucher from the mag and another S&G voucher from the machine. My plan was to buy the shopper bag for 2.50 and get 400pts back:cool:

Well, I checked my receipt when I left the store and they didn't give me any points:( but the bag went through for 0.00:D

Rather strange and I know the bag may not be the most exciting bargain ... but if they're letting me have it for nothing then....

Just thought I'd share - apologies if it's already been mentioned.

Ok guys, anyone know roughly how long it takes for a new AC to be sent out? I am eagerly awaiting delivery of mine and am getting impatient!

Also, i want a 17 powder and concealer. Is it best to buy them separately and get 2 x free lip glazes + another 17 item for both transactions as that should go through as free correct?

Thanks, am loving boots right now!
  • I used the £2 haircare voucher today to get a John Frieda frizz ease serum 5ml - should be £1.99 but went through free :j (they're in a small silver cardboard box)

I got the hair care voucher doing the following spend:
17 mineral blush £3.99 + 50 points voucher from ACM
17 lip glaze £3.79 - free with voucher from mag
    17 concealer £2.29 - free as the 3-4-2 on 17 products
    No7 4-in-1 wipes £6.50 - but £1.50 as used £5 voucher

    Good day :D

It seems that you need one 17 item to be less than £3.79 for it to go through free on 342 with a free lipglaze as one item.

    Thanks.

So if I did concealer at £2.29, lip glaze at £3.79 then say an eyeshadow at £2.99 I would get the lip glaze free and the concealer, therefore only paying £2.99.

Then I want a powder at £2.79, lip glaze at £3.79 and say another eyeshadow at £2.99 I would again only pay £2.99. Thus getting six items for less than £6, does that sound right?

Sorry to sound dumb but what are the magazines you are all talking about?

I've just got my advantage card (no Boots where I used to live) so am new to their reward scheme so any help greatly appreciated ! I already have a voucher for £5 for No 7 products etc and a double points coupon for 2 shops that I got with my card so am hoping to go on Saturday and start my points collection.:T

Does anyone have any quick tips they could give me on ways to max my points (short of reading through this enormous thread !)

    Thank you in advance

Oops pressed thanks rather than quote.....have this one on me:rotfl:

The magazines are the Boots own magazines which can be found in store. They are free to advantage card holders or £1 to anyone else.

Regarding maximising points.....no need to read the whole thread.....just the last few pages as the offers changed yesterday and we are still working out the best form of attack:rotfl:

Edit: with your current No 7 voucher...probably the best buy is No 7 for Men Anti Friction Shave Gel. This costs £5.50 - pay with a £5.00 voucher and hand over a 50 pence piece. Cut the coupon out the current mag for No 7 for men and you get 100 points as well. So really Boots are paying you 50p to take this away - don't waste your double points voucher on this though because if there is a coupon for points it will override normal points and you can't double coupon points

Hesjane thanks for the thanks, have returned the favour ! lol

Thanks also for the reply. I can't wait to go on Saturday ! Have been stopping myself from buying toiletries etc from my supermarket shop for a while now, so got a nice long list of things to get. I'll watch your plan of attack with interest !
