crystal, please don't take offense at this but as you have posted on the Debt Free Wanna board, the first step you need to take is to stop spending on unnecessary things which are just, presumably, adding to your credit card debt.
Obviously you need to be able to buy food and pay your bills but as always suggested on this board if you put up your outgoings users can help you to reduce these amounts substantially as it looks like you will need to live on some form of benefit for some time.0 -
Hi edinburgh lass No offence taken but I dont think you fully understood my last post
I live on childbenefit and use my cards to pay only for emergencies like utilities that are not covered with what is left of child benefit
I am not in receipt yet of backdated sickpay or I.S. from jobcentre and have had no sickpay from my employer since late may as gone full 6 months with sickpay and wanted to know if anyone knows of any legislation guidelines as to how long they are allowed to take before they pay my claim which i was informed is sorted just awaiting authorising ????£2.00 savings club =£2.000 -
Make them sick of you and they'll pay you to get rid of you. But DON'T let them keep you on hold. Tell them to call you back. They have far more money for phone bills than you do. The Government will tell you there is a legal minimum for you to live on, and they have to ensure you receive that. If they do not, get a newspaper reporter interested. Or a crusading DJ on your local radio. Amazing how things get done once these people get involved.
You have my sympathy. I know that's not much help, but -
As to cutting back on unnecessary spending. I am down to the quick. I can't cut any more unless I do without electric and food. I don't go out, I don't buy anything I don't need. I still struggle. Life is just so darned expensive.0 -
There Are Laid Guidelines Set Down For The Amount Of Time They Have To Pay Benefit - Incapacity Benefit Is Something Like 22 Days And Is Is 12 If I Remember Correctly But This Is After All The Information To Process The Claim Is Recieved Including From Your Emmployer. Ask For A Customer Charter Leaflet It Explains Everything, Also Contact Your Mp. You May Want To Apply For A Crisis Loan From The Social Fund (this Is Interest Free)which Should In Turn Buck Them Up And Pay You Your Due Benefit If Not Ask For An Interim Payment. I Would Not Suggest You Do As Melusine Suggest As Everytime You Phone The Papers Are Taken From The Bundle Which Delays Things Even Further. If You Have A Local Welfare Rights Team Usually Based With The Social Work Contact Them, And If You Have Child Benefit Have You Made Sure Your Tax Credits Have Been Altered, Possibly Increased Due To Your Reduced Income, A Jobcentreplus Office Should Also Be Able To Assist You In Informing Change Of Circs To The Tax Credits. Hope This Helpsskintbint x
