I'm currently looking for a new mobile. I want a qwerty keypad, pay as you go, and not much more than a £100 price tag.
Currently I'm dithering between the Samsung SGH-i320 (can get for £90 from a legit seller on eBay) or the Orange SPV-E610 (£99 on the Orange website).
The Orange is very new and so there's hardly any info on its specs (and no reviews). The two look very similar on this comparison site: http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=pdacomparer&id1=453&id2=980 but I think some of the Orange details are wrong. For a start, I'm pretty sure the Orange doesn't have wireless (or that would be decision made) and when I rang them up they said it had Mobile 5 (not 6).
The major difference is that the Samsung has infrared, which means if I ever took my phone and Alphasmart Neo (a portable wordprocessor with full keyboard) out at the same time, I could possibly back up the Neo files on the phone.
But do I go with an older phone just for infrared that I might never use? The Orange would be bought from a shop, is newer so may be more supported, and has a better camera.
The Samsung is a known entity, already has a load of accessories out there, and is lighter and smaller.
Another thing is that I have a Vista computer, and I've no idea as to how that will affect the syncing of the two machines (as Vista uses Mobile Device Manager instead of ActiveSync).
I've spent two days thinking about this, and I still can't decide. But I want one! Any help with the decision would be appreciated
eta: the ebay seller has told me there are some problems syncing the Samsung to Vista, so that's probably the end of that. Though I don't know how much better the Orange will be - at least I'll be able to send that back (I think) if it doesn't work.
