Will I get a speeding ticket - Humphhhh

I was driving back from the local shop, on a 30mph road, doing only about about 32.

My other half shouted - LOOK, so I freaked out and started looking around, and there were 2 police women with a handheld gadget stood on the side of the road, following my car with it!!

I`m now a wreck.. I`ve never had points or a fine before.. Is there anyway of checking any databases online to see if I`ll get an endorsement or not??

By the way, for the smart !!!!!! who are like `well you shouldn`t have been speeding`... I KNOW !!!

if your speedo said 32 then you weren't doing more than 30. the majority of speedos are between 5 and 10% out (higher).

they have to hold the gun towards your car for quite a while to get the reading.

i wouldn't panic.

Were they in front of you? If so, they normally signal you to stop if they had measured your speed to be in excess of the speed limit.

Hi there, they were in front, then we drove past them... they were on foot, with no car, so unless they ran after me, they wouldn`t have stood a chance really!

They normally have a car further up the road to pull you over.

i wouldnt worry about it to much
they usually use a 10% disrection on speed so they usually allow upto 33mph

and they are supposed to clock your speed on an average of 300 metres

on the flipside with a hand held device rather than a static camera you will here pretty quickley if you have been snapped and it will be £60 and 3 points if you dont dispute it..

I thought that without picture evidence, they have to sop you there and then. Are you sure they weren't members of the public doing a community speed watch?

Hi Guys,

Pleas help, totally confused!! Got flashed by a speed camera in London, doing around 40mph over speed limit - ( I know, I know, horrible and silly thing to do and will never do it again), but I have yet to receive anything in the post? I have recived no ticket, court summons, etc. Am I likely to still receive this as think they only have 14 days to get me? Offence was around 6th Oct 2010.
