OK ,you are all correct.........I was being a woose!:o

I have refunded both payments and sent a combined invoice, lets hope buyer is OK with it,I can't think how else it could happen, apart from them doing it.

I have no combined P+P set up exept when buyers buy from a multple listing,as all my items are so different.

I must add a clearer note to my listings re contact me for combined invoice.
I used to accept instant payment by paypal only so couldn't do that then.

Thanks for talking me in to doing the right thing and not being a wimp:T :rotfl: :T

If you have sent a combined invoice then do remember to make a small discount as you will save a fraction on paypal fees. If I buy a couple of items from the same person and they want the full amount but only send one invoice I owuld normally pay fr each item seperately.

Also if not offering a discount do not whatever you do, send both items together.

    Thanks Soolin,

I kinda said in my email that I was sending a combined invoice to allow me to send the items together ,I was afraid of accusing her of adding discount.
I just said I didn't know where the discount problem lay but needed them paid together to be able to offer any discount.

When I sell certain items that people tend to buy more than one of I actually put clearly in my auction that I will offer a postage discount but only if buyer contacts me and asks for a combined invoice. I also say that I regret I cannot offer refunds where items and bought and PAID FOR individually.

Still doesn't stop them trying though :p

    Thanks Soolin,
    I will do that too!

All is well, buyer has paid the combined invoice saying she never noticed the discount:confused:

I guess we'll never know if it was an accident or deliberate, but I will keep an eye out in the future:rolleyes:

I do wonder sometimes whether there is a deliberate attempt to knock a few bob off hoping a seller won't notice.

A while ago on here we had a thread running where people were posting that when they actually double checked their paypal receipts the odd few were very slightly short, just a little bit and not likely to be noticed in the great scheme of things. Almost as though some buyer push for a few pence here and there and hope we don't notice.

it looks like your buyer has given themselves a £2 discount to me!

i would either refund the payment and send an invoice for what they should have paid

or just send them an invoice/paypal money request for the difference they owe you

think i would go for the 1st option
    :)
  • I have had cheeky buyers too. Not sure how they wangled it but twice now it has happened across my accounts where I sell internationally and have all the postage prices entered for all destinations - they paid the UK postage amount and played sweet and inocent when I asked how they did it and advised that I would be sending them a refund and a revised invoice. Having clicked on the £ sign on ebay seller account - it showed that the buyer had edited the postage and it wouldn't actually let me back out of that screen until I had put the international postage back in - so not sure how they managed to complete the transaction. All was good in the end - they tried it on and fell at the first hurdle and paid the correct amount without any quibbles.

You have to get up early in a morning to catch me out! lol x :A
